Log wall in kitchen -- what to do w/ backsplash

We are building a log vacation home and I am wondering what to do with the backsplash. One long wall of my kitchen is against the outside log wall. The opposing wall is a full wall of cabinets. The side wall is against a regular frame wall which will house the cooktop. The countertops will be honed granite or slate. The sink is a farm sink that covers the front to back full depth of the counter. I can only tile the one wall so should I put in the 4" backsplash that is the same as the counter all the way around? Or just run the counter to the wall and tile in a color that corresponds to the log color? Does anyone have pics of a kitchen with only one tiled wall?

TIA!
