Best way to run gas line to Island
Comments (14)"but now want to replace electric cooktop with gas cooktop" @HU-60126775 - you should replace your old electric cooktop with an induction cooktop (powered by electricity) and save yourself grief, expense, and needing a master plumber to run a gas line and vent it properly. With an induction cooktop, you would be getting a faster more responsive easier to clean cooktop, and you'd be done. Edited to add: just realized that @HU-60126775 posted a month ago, so is prob gone. I should not have been sucked in by @brettellis' post haha...See MoreFire Bowls and Fire pits?
Comments (4)I utilize fire rings from Cunningham Gas Products. On firebowls I use the 6" and on firepits I use the 18" or larger depending on the size of the firepit. If your placing the firebowl on top of a pool beam you must use a sleeve through the gunite and then run a copper tube through the sleeve. Noble Tile has some fire bowls that range from very affordable to very expensive. Try Googling Noble swimming pool tile for their website. I would definitely suggest using a plumber to make your gas installation on either of these features. This is a job for Pro's, many people have no idea of just how volatile Natural Gas is. Comments (3)(Even though this is a year late) I do not know what brand you have, but the clearances to combustible materials are going to be about the same for any of them. I do not know of any that would allow that base/enclosure to be framed out of wood. The dotted line represents the entire noncombustible zone. Your base/enclosure is just the smaller highlighted object in the middle. Make the structure out of brick or concrete block when you redo it....See MorePropane fire pit clearance under power lines
Comments (3)There is a difference between a service wire (the wire that provides service to just your house) and a power line. Utilities typically have an easement for a power line that limits what you can construct on their easement. If you are talking about a power line and not a service wire, you should check for an easement. Certain circumstances may make it necessary for the utility to require the removal of all unauthorized construction on their easements....See Morehomebound
