Yes! I adopted a dog in January and thought he was very picky since he wanted nothing to do with commercial treats. Turns out he just wanted fresh veges and some fruits! He gets raw apples, pears, sugar snap peas, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. I haven't tried tomates yet!

Some are given as treats and others are chopped and added to his home made food.

Mine go nuts over peas and beans.

Our dog and one cat like fruits and vegies. Our cat goes crazy when she hears us making salad.

Both our dogs and one of our cats love veggies. Any kind of veggies.

It's great for stuffing kongs. Not only can you put the raw veggies in, but I use a lot of pureed veggies/fruits to coat everything in and freeze it. A lot better than cheeze whiz or peanut butter.

Lady thinks carrots are one of the best treats ever. Sawyer and Beauty used to love tomatos - they could "hear" a tomato being cut from across the house and be in the kitchen before the knife made it through the tomato. Thank you for bringing that memory back!

My sister's dachshund used to delicately nibble tomatoes off the plant. Tthere was never any fruit on the lower 20 inches of the plant!

My mother's Dalmation LOVED tomatoes.

That is why (plus the urine factor) that we raise our tomatoes in elevated planter boxes! Toby will pick the hanging grape and cherry tomatoes off the vines. He loves carrots and asparagus, as well. He likes most fruits - especially bananas - except citrus. Both he and Casey think that frozen green beans are pupscicles.

Friends had dogs that would pick and eat all of the low-hanging fruit from their trees. Can't remember what, but dogs don't like citrus so must have been stone fruit or whatever grows in Souther CA. Some dogs also like avocados. We had a German Shepherd who would carefully select the ripe cherry tomatoes.

We also have or have had cats who like/liked corn on the cob, peas (canned, fresh or frozen/defrosted) and cantaloup. Can't leave any of these on the counter around a cat who craves them. Go figure.

I had always heard that tomatoes were not good for dogs, so when I saw this post I did a search and WAS SHOCKED at all the things on this list that they say are not good for dogs. Sorry, my search said foods for dogs.

I had a beagle years ago who loved raw carrots and ears of corn. She also ate regular canned dog food.

The only thing on that list that to me wasn't somewhat common sense was the baby food. I never thought to check the baby food for onion powder, I'll have to do that. I just assume with fruits that the pits/seeds are choking hazards and shouldnt be given anyways.

I have a chahuahua that loves green pepper more than any other food. From puppy to three years, she loved cherry tomatoes. She will eat them now, but not like she used to. Carrots have to be sweet. She can tell by sniffing. She waits very patiently for us to finish our corn-on-the-cob so she can gnaw on the leftovers.
My dalmatian pup will eat anything not nailed down. I'm a bit worried what will happen once the garden produce starts coming in! And he will for sure not get any corn cobs!

I went to get the asparagus again today, and he brought another "prize" back with him. lol! Joey is such a funny little guy. Like I mentioned, he has Lupus. He has been doing great with his food, and I really think the veggies are a good thing too! My hubby just laughs at me when I say I have to buy dog treats, and bring home little carrots. I have not tried corn on the cob yet (may pass that one up...lol!)

My childhood dog "Brownie" loved raw carrots and would sit at Mom's feet while she peeled them and would wait for a few tidbits!!

I was in an orange grove in Florida one time and the farm dog enjoyed eating oranges.

I bought a bag of carrots and celery yesterday.
I gave the carrots to the boys and they chewed them and spit them out in tiny pieces all over the carpet. So much for carrots.

I have not given them the celery yet. May just have to stick with peas and beans. Beans are real easy to grow so I may grow some beans.
