I Don't Know What I Don't Know About Mini Fridges
Comments (9)Hi Plllog! "That is, I know it's possible, but might not be in your budget." See, there's the crux of it. This little beverage center idea of mine was not in the original budget. (Nor, alas, were new drywall in the livingroom and halls, the gorgeous walnut top on my used cabinet island, the matching gorgeous top that will soon be on the new media cabinet and the near full gut of the bathroom.) And we're still determined to get through remodeling our ugly duckling without taking out a loan or dipping into savings. Conventional wisdom says: Wait until the coffers are full again but that's so hard to do. First off, I'm a cheapskate. Even if the goose who laid the golden egg waddled up onto my deck and built a nest, I'm not sure I would willingly pay someone to mess up the walls I just paid to fix. Second, I'm not quite cheap enough. My new kitchen is starting to look pretty good but, gosh, it would look so much better if the microwave and coffee maker didn't take up so much room on that one counter. I'm willing to spend a little bit more to change that, especially since I'm going to have a piece of countertop leftover that should be just the right size. Still, it's nice to know that it's possible. Maybe when the coffers ARE full again I'll put a tile counter outside on my deck to shade the golden goose should she happen to wander by ;) Thanks for your help!...See Morerefrig and double oven next to each other
Comments (11)I've had it that way for several years and it works fine. Mostly it's due to the overall layout - I only have one corner in my kitchen (there is a walk way at each "corner". My fridge is sxs so doors swing both ways. Have about 4" extra inches between, so the fridge door won't hit the oven handles unless someone really pushed the fridge door back farther than it naturally goes. I have a small island in front of the appliances, and it works great as a landing are for both - and I have the ends of the counters on the adjacent walls. I have no counter space on the wall that the fridge and ovens are on. What I love most about this arrangement is that we recessed the opening 2' into the room behind, so it appears the wall oven, fridge and pantry are built into the back wall of the kitchen, and don't stick out into the room. View from the dining room (back entrance, not the main one) before I started work on the dining room....See MoreDon't Put The Microwave Next To The Fridge
Comments (14)I love having the MW next to the fridge, but I have a single-door fridge, which opens away from the MW cabinet. On the other side of the fridge I have a tall stack of drawers--base cabinet plus three drawers, but in 6 years I don't recall anyone opening the fridge while someone else had a drawer extended, or vice versa. OTOH, I've filled in a ding in the sheet rock behind our back door several times, because someone keeps moving the wood block I use for a wall guard, and when the door is thrown open without the guard to stop it, it makes a nice impression of the lock turner thingy....See MoreTwo F&P fridges installed next to each other
Comments (17)Are the freezers in the 25 inch model overly small even for a 25 inch model or do you feel it’s just not an overall good design for storage as far as them being a pull out design? I know noise/loud is subjective to each individual, but would you say they’re quiet or on the loud side? beside obviously wanting them to keep a good temperature, how loud it is is quite important to me as well. Thank you again for all your input, you’ve been very helpful to me!! It’s greatly appreciated!!...See MoreRelated Professionals
