Some things are starting to bloom.

A couple varieties of New Guniea Impatiens.

Joel has an extensive collection of sun coleus. He jokes about starting a 12 step program to overcome his addiction to them.

This a red variety of Cordyline.

We've also been working on a pottery display in the retail building.

And every greenhouse has a cat. This is the elusive Panther.

Annie, I realized this weekend that I do a lot of squatting while I help the kids. This motivates me to do even more. Bpathome, I am going to start planks this week! Strolling is still exercise. ANY movement, no matter how small, counts. It all counts. Sounds like a really fun walk! Lizbeth, I am sorry you needed surgery! It's OK if you missed some time-- what is always important is that you are back. To me, this is a learning process. I know what you mean about mornings. I try to go on automatic and just get it up and do it without thinking. Gibby, woo hoo!!! How did the weekend go? Amj, glad you are feeling better. What a great support your DH will be! My husband has no interest in exercise. Blfenton, I love how you incorporate exercise so regularly. I definitely see this as investment, as you said. I think, for a long time, I thought of it as vanity, or someone bossing me around about what I "should" be doing, but being 40, I see what a long road lies ahead (or short one!) if I don't take care of little problems NOW. Gscience, that's great that you already have a routine! RE: the fruit/veg, I am trying to get more in by eating some every other time I eat. Are you going to be done soon with the school yr, or teach during the summer term, too?

Bonnie, you are doing great! And you are right, it does seem like things are getting harder. I guess they get easier if we stick to it, though, right? ( I hope!!) Annie, that is awesome!!!!! Congrats! Beth, wow about waitressing. I really think it is such a tough job, one of the toughest. How did your weight training go? I am a little less into it this week. Tried a new DVD from a friend but it was so repetitive and I hurt my knees a little. Also got my period EARLY (very early) so I have to deal with that. Missed my workout yesterday despite getting up very early because I had to make things for my mom's b-day . . .but I made myself get up early today to get the workout done, so I didn't miss any! Whew. I see, though, that if I can't do it in the a.m., it is very hard to fit it in at any other time. I really want to get some light equipment and new DVDs. Something easy on the knees but that will really strengthen my legs, butt, etc. to help with my knees. Ideas?

Patience, Rita, patience. To answer some questions. As for transplanting the plug tray of pansies. It's a many step process. First the flats are filled with soil. Flats are the trays of 4 paks. Then the plugs are popped out with a plug dislodger. Sometimes this works very well, at other times it doesn't and we pop them out with a small dowell. Then they'rer actually planted. Next they're transported from the headhouse (where all the planting is done) to the greenhouse. After they're lined up on the bench they're watered well. with a crew of 4 we can do a plug tray in 35 to 45 minutes. I have to admit that I never looked at the labels to see what seeds Joel has started already. My bad. Nearly all the veggies and herbs are started from seeds. During the growing part of the greenhouse season there are 4 of us in addition to Joel at the greenhouse most days. When it gets real busy with selling in May we'll be up to 10 or 12 people on the weekends. By the end of June it will be just 1 person plus Joel. He has one pretty much full time employee from early Feb. to the end of October. Her name is Laurie and she does lots of scrapbooking in the winter months. She's quite camera shy. The greenhouse is a great place to work. Most of us are in our mid 50's so we listen to a lot of CD's, classic rock.(The Stones, 3 dog night, Aerosmith, etc.) Laurie is the kid. She's only in her mid 40's. At least 2 or 3 times a week she'll play a BeeGees CD. I keep telling her that disco is dead but she doesn't believe me. And, yes, Blossom is a very sweet dog. To answer a few questions: Dad and Mom have been married 57 years as of last Sept. The temps. vary in the greenhouses. Some houses run cooler (55 at night and 65 to 70 during the day) for the pansies and osteospermum while others like it warmer (70 at night and 75 to 80 during the day) such as the lantana and New Guniea Impatiens. I've sure been enjoying your greenhouse pictures. It looks like a labor of love! And I also have that coleus addiction but I don't want treatment for it. LOL!!! Right now I have a list as long as my arm of new ones I would like. I just love their versatility and they do wonderful down here in Florida.

Love the pottery - especially the green birdbath bubbler! I have a couple of those large pots and they sure are heavy.

Blossom is awesome! She looks like a real ham.

I've enjoyed your pictures throughout this season. The pots are beautiful. I can hardly wait to plant my pots and put them on the deck.
Since the end of January I've been working at a friends greenhouse. They just had their 7th child so they asked me to work while she gets back to normal. The new baby and mom have been in several times. I heard her mention this might work again next year. That would be super for me, I love digging in the dirt and transplanting! Only problem are my nails which are now non existent and peeling back into the nail bed. Having a job where I have to wear my old comfy sweatshirts and jeans and I can play in the dirt is so much fun! Only a couple more weeks and my job may be done though. I'll be looking forward to your updates, its fun to see another green house in action. Your plants are encouraging that warm weather is near.

Hi my name is Marion, I'm addicted to coleus and I refuse to go to rehab! I've recently discovered the perennial varieties and have many on my wish list. We had a coleus swap last year that was so much fun...and I have lots of new favorites.
Everything looks perfect! I'm partial to blue glazed pottery. I've been looking for a bird bath for years.
Panther looks like he's on a mission and Blossom ...just as sweet as ever.
When is opening day?

Ahhhhhhhh! A breath of spring!
I just spent 2 1/2 nerve wracking hours driving in rain,slush,ice and snow (I thought we were DONE with that crud!) and boy I think I want to sleep in the greenhouse tonight!

Thank you all. We are in a Winter Storm Warning for tonight and tomorrow. 'Spose to get 4 to 6 inches of wet heavy snow. I may be the only one at work tomorrow. All I have to do is walk across the road to get there.

I'm a coleus addict too! I love em all. But,I'm not doing New Guenias anymore. They don't do well for me. I do plan to plant Echeveria in Pots. Also, herbs in pots.

BTW, I really love the Glazed Pottery great colors.
