Can I bake with Splenda?

Hello. I'd like to make the same tarts I just baked tonight but this time I'd like to make them for my dad who is a diabetic and is not allowed any sugar, not even agave or molasses. I figure it is easy, just use splenda, but will that affect the chemical process of the crust? The crust only calls for 2 teaspoons of sugar so I can't imagine it makes That big of a difference.

Does it really matter?
