A day in the life of a geranium (pics)

This week in the greenhouse where I work we're planting geraniums.

They come to us as little plug plants. 26 to a strip.

The flat filling machine.

They are potted into 4 and a half inch pots, 12 to a flat.

These are the flats filled with soil ready to be planted.

A freshly planted flat.

Then they go onto a monorail cart and are wheeled out to a greenhouse.

Next they're taken out of the flat and lined out ready to be hooked up to an irrigation line. Each pot has it's own tube with a lead weight on the end to hold it in the pot.

Ready to grow.

The process gets pretty tedious. Especially after the first couple thousand. We crank up the music to help make the day move along.
