The Dog Days of Interior Design?
It's hard to deny that some rooms resemble the pooch in residence. Coincidence or not? You decide
We've all heard that dogs and their owners resemble one another, right? Well, that got me thinking. Do dogs resemble their houses too? Do we unconsciously start to decorate our houses to look like our dogs? Do we worry that our floors will clash with their coats? C'mon, haven't you ever held a paint chip up to your dog?
According to Lance Workman of Bath Spa University in the United Kingdom, in a 2009 study researchers found that members of the public could predict which breed of dog a person would own almost twice as accurately as they should be able to, just by looking at a photograph of their owners. There were a number of physical reasons why owners looks suggested which dog they would have, including what clothes they wore and their build, says Workman. So let's take a look at these Houzz dogs and see if that same logic applies to dogs and décor.
