Opinions needed on paint color & accessories
Comments (18)Prairiegirl: the twig bed is not by corsican. It's by this artist -- I've been coveting his iron work for a while. I'm linking it down here. :-) My niece does not really care a/b decorating at this point -- she's more into shopping & clothes (understandably so. I don't think alot of 19yos are into home dec) . I asked & she said, "whatever you want is fine with me." I think she (like most girls) like a glamorous & romantic look -- totallyblessed: you can find corsican bed at laylagrace.com. I don't know if they carry all the styles however. I found these pics of canopy beds == this is the idea I'm thinking a/b. The only thing is these headboards are plain & mine is very decorative so I don't know if it would work -- the 2nd pix is more of what I have in mind. Except the walls colors is lighter and the branches will be done in silver, brown & gold. I will try to see if Igloo's idea would work-- I have some silk panels sitting around. :-) Thanks again for all the ideas! Comments (11)Looking at the first photo in your post I would agree that a dark mocha color would be better for the walls. The walls look pale and pinkish, and does not enhance the beauty of the space. There is a lot of tile in there and not much of painted walls. A designer trick would be to paint the wall space a dark color and then tiles them seem light and bright and alive, and make the room seem larger. But I think I see where your DH is coming from with this. The little toilet area is small and does not have a window. If the little toilet area is painted all dark it would seem cramped in there. You don't want to paint a medium tone because then it would match the tiles and make it an 'all the same blah'. You need contrast. I think what the room needs is a warmer richer color like something in a greyed out yellow. A color that is rich and saturated, and will brighten. Something to set off the beautiful tiles and make them sing. I would paint the whole big wall with the window the rich deep yellow and in the toilet area paint the two other small walls the same color but two tones lighter. The toilet area will seem more spacious with two of the walls a bit lighter as it sort of 'breaks it up' and won't seem like a little cave. You would not see the two lighter walls from any where else in the bathroom, only if you were in the toilet area. Its a very pretty bathroom. I like how the lighting for the sinks was done. I've never seen lighting installed that way....See MoreNeed opinions on exterior paint colors.
Comments (3)Here is my house and I would like to paint it the cream color that I used for trim on the outbuildings. I’ll do a blue door. We are going to make shutters and paint them. I could use some suggestions on cute ideas for the shutters. I thought about painting them green with some accent trim in cream/blue? Should I also paint the gutters etc? What about the vinyl where the roof peaks - any thoughts on that?...See MoreNeed opinions on paint color
Comments (4)Photos on realtor websites may not be a true representation of color. I think they either use lighting or adjust the photos to try to make a home look warm and inviting. Are the walls that peachy in real life? The walls in last photo look less peachy and the floor tile looks browner compared to the other photos. Pick a wall color that looks good with the floor tile while keeping your furnishings in mind. The hardwood floors are neutral. It’s hard to make suggestions other than a warm white from these photos....See Moreboxerpups
