I can see why something is neccessary to delineate the space, but not want to reduce the floorspace. A question to ask could be how thin any construction could be. This might help with any decisions. It might be worth exploring custom options to fit a full floor to ceiling screen located as I drew out above and exploring materials - maybe frosted glass ? wooden floor to ceiling slats with glazing between? or another material between? or just slats set at an angle ? or slats that can have the angle adjusted so they can be 'open' for light to travel, or 'closed' to obscure the sight line, or partially opened? It could be a combination 1/2 wall with glazing above or slats. Another option might be to consider not having an island and placing the 'wall' at the lounge edge of the island bench so the kitchen becomes a galley style so only the dining space and bench with the stove is visable.

One year I made my own cards on blank paper. I got a very fancy filagree wreath stamp...don't quite remember but I think you stamped on some type of adhesive. Then you covered it in a powder and then heated it which caused the powder to melt and become dimensional. Then I hand colored each one with water color pens. I got another stamp for the inside that said Merry Christmas or some such holiday wish. It was a lot of work, but it was fun. Not sure I have any left...

Cherb0, I really enjoy your vision and picture composure. I have one technical critic though. There are a few areas that are slightly overexposed. This is when you have an area in the picture where light is bright enough to white out the details. It can be good and bad at times

I would suggest setting the Exposure value -.3 also maybe bump up the contrast and saturation. This is what I had to do for the picture in the link, If I didn't the white feathers would have been too bright and the details would have been lost.

Again, I really enjoyed you pictures. Sometimes I am relucntant to give technical advice, people are touchy when it comes to their photos.

What camera are you using, that will tell more about your the camera abilities

Thanks aitro_joe for the lesson but I am camera illiterate so I really don't know what you are saying. I use a Z760 Kodak Easy share and usually, as in this case just use the automatic settings. This particular day I forgot my reading glasses and couldn't see to set my camera even if I knew what I was doning, lol. I would like to learn more though and take no offence at your comments.

you have all kinds of options with that camera. Honestly the best way to get to know your camera is to read the manual, ask questions and shoot pictures. Have fun!
