Bumblebeez - whenever I happen upon Last of the Mohicans while channel flipping I stop immediately and watch it again. It gets me every time. Last night it was on AMC - Story Notes, an AMC feature where they insert captions at the bottom of the screen with brief 'notes' about the film. It's the first time I watched one - the notes were interesting the first time, but I wouldn't want to see it that way again. I love Netflix too! I think it's one of the most well run companies on the 'net, and their website is simple and easy to navigate. Be sure to check out the free movies you can watch instantly on your computer. You can stop and go back to them later. It's wonderful. I've enjoyed these recently (some are instant). I stayed home Sunday and watched a whole bunch of old movies I had picked up on DVD the last few years. This is the Army - Ronald Reagan, Irving Berlin, Joe Louis and a bunch of other old time stars. The production numbers were plentiful and great fun to watch. This was a 1943 movie and in one scene in the movie the men were standing around Regean who had just read a wire to say they would be giving a "command performance" in Washington and one of the guys said "we will be performing for the boss, the Commander in Chief" LOL Little did they know they were standing next to a future President. I loved this movie! Then I watched Kelly's Heroes another favourite movie of mine. Donald Sutherland makes me laugh in this as does Gavin McCleod. My Dad took us to the drive-in to see this movie. I also Little Princess with Shirley Temple - another favourite movie. I also watched Angel and the Badman with John Wayne and Gail Russel. I had never seen this movie before. So after I spent the day watching all these movies my SIL calls to invite me over for a bbq'd hamburger so I had to take a shower. We ate dinner then went downstairs and watched James Bond's Goldfinger. I hadn't seen this movie in years and really enjoyed it again. My brother said when he first saw the movie it was the first time he had seen a Ford Mustang and how they all wanted one after watching the movie. The next movie I am going to watch is 9to5. I never get tired of watching this movie. LOL Anne

It seems to me that Hollywood only makes three movies these days: The movie about running real fast and engaging in physically impossible acrobatics while things blow up all around. The fart joke movie. The dysfunctional relationships movie, which has two variants: pseudo-inspirational and frankly depressing. Of course, these can be combined, as for instance, in the upcoming remake of Murder on the Orient Express which seems to combine Hercule Poirot, superhero, with the most dreary-looking trainload of miserable people you ever saw. So I just don't go. The suggestion to go to an art house is clearly made by people who live in very major metro areas. I live just north of a major metro area, but still about 90% of the movies I might possibly wish to see do not play within 150 miles of where I live. I see about one movie a year in the theater. Unfortunately, I do keep up with what's current when visiting my brother who has every known streaming service. I'm astounded at how fatiguing it is to try to be entertained.
