Wall color for a bathroom that is so very brown (not a neutral!)
Comments (84)I also know what you mean, and totally agree, emmarene...all the other flat wall colors merely provide contrast to the brown, not take away any of the " brownness"..but I just hate wallpaper because it is to tightly repetitive. TOTALLY biased opinion here, because I'm a decorative painter, but if I were the OP I would consider consulting a decorative painter to come up with something unique that works with the brown, OR look for a paper with less...repetition. ETA or go with the pale neutral wall w/ colorful artwork option but I believe the OP has ruled that out. Comments (17)Thanks so much! I just finished the first of two bathrooms in a condo. The tiles (Daltile Veneziano) were uneven in thickness and had uneven edges. I did not realize when I ordered how this would impact the installation. The tiler had a tough time with installation and I had to make some decisions that I am not happy with. (Tile jutted out so vanity could not be fit tight against the tiled wall, so had to use short backsplash, etc etc) http://products.daltile.com/series.cfm?series=462 If only I had learned more from reading the great threads here, and asked questions before purchasing! The literature even specifies that the tile has irregular edges but I did not pay enough attention. So how does one learn, before purchasing, if the tiles are warped or bowed? Will this always be visible in the sample, and do most dealers divulge this to the buyer? Thanks so much!!...See MoreSun tunnel in your bathroom - anybody? Please share your experience
Comments (2)Shortly after we built our previous house in 1981, we installed a sun tunnel in our windowless bathroom. We used the Solatube brand. It was just what they call a daylight system. It did not have a light or vent added on. It was great. We sold that house quiet a few years ago but during the time we had the Solatube we never had any issues with it. We loved having the Solatube so much, that when my daughter bought a home with windowless bathroom, we had a Solatube installed in their bathroom as a house warming present for them. Theirs is also a daylight system. Most days you do not even need to turn a light on in their bathroom. At night if the moon is out you get a nice soft night light too. My DD's bathroom is only 76x61 plus the tub alcove area. She has 2 four inch recessed lights in the ceiling and has a 24" wide rectilinear bath bar over her vanity mirror. She does not feel the need for any additional light in her bathroom. Here picture taken during the day without any of the bathroom lights turned on The link below is for the brand we both used. Comments (5)I dkd install them and they look fine. To me they aren't as substantial looking as I thought they would be but they are nice. I did them in stainless, I think I prefer the look of them in the black or champagne. We are heading to the home they are in tomorrow, if I remember to I'll take a picture and post....See MoreCircus Peanut
