Hi all! Sorry, I've been a bit absent, but it's been a tough couple of weeks. My husband's friend passed away (he had lived down in California the past 10 years) and my BIL was in the hospital. He went in for an infection, caused by a poke from a 'stake' sprinkler and ended up with pneumonia! His daughter (my niece) is 12 and we ended up driving in a lot to see him and spend time with her. So, things are finally calming down a bit and I went out to check on my fairy garden, this evening. Weeds everywhere! I went a bit 'crazy' and pulled weeds for half an hour, making a huge pile all along the grass path. What a mess, but my husband said he'll help me rake it up, tomorrow. He's such a nice guy :) Marti- I'm glad to see that cooler, fall weather has arrived for you. It must be wonderful, after all that heat! Ellendi- Thank you so much for starting the post. I hope you find your tea...it sounds very exotic! It's fun to get together to visit and I'm so glad everyone is enjoying 'tea'. We also get together on Thursdays, over on the cottage garden forum (conversations side) if anyone wants to stop by. Have a wonderful week!

Well I'm leaving in about an hour to a lunch date..that will take me about 3 miles there..and while I'm out I'll walk down the street a few shops to pick up my eggs..then to my hair dressers to pick up a check for a candle she sold for me(another 2 miles)..I may drive a total of 10-15 miles today. I have to take my big boy to Drivers Ed this evening, and pick him up..maybe 4 more miles.

RED SLEEVED WARRIOR - hasn't been too good this year. Lack of scapes, buds and definitely is falling behind BACK TO THE FUCHSIA - still going. CAPACITY FOR WONDER - Nice trio today LIGHT OF THE WORLD - it has had numerous flushes of blooms opening. This was taken this morning. BERMA ABERCROMBIE - still going SCIENCE OF MIND - I think it is finally winding down. FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN - this morning another round of open blooms. I've decided to divide it this year. OH GREAT ONE - it has shaped up after the first couple of openings and now it is almost done. I think I should stop here. I still have a couple more that haven't opened yet and one that I was waiting for in the holding bed area that the deer nipped off some of the buds. We have a doe with her fawn hanging around so I assume it was them that decided to dine on my daylilies in those beds. Julia

Like the big watermark eye on Franklin Edward League. You seem to have capturred the nuances of that one well. In addition to what others have said about various cultivars, I will just add that I was never happy with the performance of Desert Icicles, but sometimes you have to try relocation. (Never the height it was supposed to be here, and rather sparse bloom. Again, though, not in prime location.)
