The weather has not been the greatest over the past week but thankfully no big storms. Here are some pics of blooms some new and others repeats.

FLYING TRAPEZE - not sure if I posted this one already but today's opening was a must photograph.

SUMMERTIME IDYLL - first opening today but it will be providing blooms through August. It is planted in the middle of the giants so when I redo this bed, it will not be hidden anymore.

KENTUCKY LUCKY - bursting with blooms today.

CARNIVAL IN BRAZIL - not a lot of buds but at least it came back after last years drought.

TAHITI SWEETIE - just has been a great opener. I love the blend of color. Tall and appears to have good branching. High Water Mark is behind it.

CAPE ROMAIN HARBOR - a good bloom pusher.

RED SLEEVED WARRIOR - hasn't been too good this year. Lack of scapes, buds and definitely is falling behind

BACK TO THE FUCHSIA - still going.

CAPACITY FOR WONDER - Nice trio today

LIGHT OF THE WORLD - it has had numerous flushes of blooms opening. This was taken this morning.

BERMA ABERCROMBIE - still going

SCIENCE OF MIND - I think it is finally winding down.

FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN - this morning another round of open blooms. I've decided to divide it this year.

OH GREAT ONE - it has shaped up after the first couple of openings and now it is almost done.

I think I should stop here. I still have a couple more that haven't opened yet and one that I was waiting for in the holding bed area that the deer nipped off some of the buds. We have a doe with her fawn hanging around so I assume it was them that decided to dine on my daylilies in those beds.

Nice photos again! It's nice to see you still have a lot of late blooms. My favorite today is Kentucky Lucky, nice soft color.

Thank you all for the comments. Last year I did a post just on the openings of WORTH IT ALL. it showed the good and bad blooms along with some oddities.This year, so far, it is behaving nicely :-). I have two clumps of this. One in the front and one in the back. The back one is blooming now. Winds have calmed down and are now coming in from the south which is suppose to bring us the hot/humid weather. Just finished my pics this morning and will post on a new thread later today. Gotta get outside and get some work done before the heat comes in. Julia

I think that last not fancy daylily is really pretty. And with 40 buds its certainly a winner. At least in my book, it is! I like your first group shot with the dark then the light and then the darker colors all in a row. It's a tie for favorite for me between JORDAN VERHEART and ASIAN EMASSARY. They are both such stunners I couldn't choose between them. All the other blooms are pretty too.

Wow, your Mokan Butterfly has way darker of an eye than mine ever did! Beautiful! I should have given it some more time! Too bad about Pirate King is right! If it would get it's act together, it would be beautiful! Please keep us up to date on what you find out thru your research. I just love the colors of Light Of The World, that color pink just pops!

I spent my morning hours today giving the yard one last mow, mowing the leaves as well as the grass. I then padded all my beds with the clippings. The idea, which I got from a book or website, is that the clippings are even now decomposing and generating heat. When I cover the Tropical bed tomorrow night, I should have a combination of solar heat and decomposition heat to help the bed through the night. I don't expect a lot of heat, but maybe just enough to make the difference between alive and dead.

Your colors always look so vivid. Flying Trapeze and Back to the Fuchsia are my top two picks, but it could easily go another way an hour from now. Really nice group........Maryl

Thanks Sherry and Maryl. I think the abundance of scapes this year due to the rain is keeping the daylilies going. I have only a couple that have totally stopped blooming. Makes it difficult to start digging, dividing and moving things around. And all those seedlings have to be dealt with as well.....

Beautiful, Julia. Loving this post. I especially like Flying Trapeze and Tahiti Sweetie, Science of Mind and Capacity For Wonder are beautiful too. In fact, there isn't a stinker in the bunch.

The clumps of Flying Trapeze, Light of the World and Kentucky Lucky are just stunning. My Kentucky Lucky did not perform well at all this year. It always had a ton of buds and scapes in the past. I'm thinking it doesn't get full sun anymore.

More wonderful pictures, so happy to see them. Berma Abercrombie, Capacity For Wonder, Flying Trapezel Light Of The World, Back To The Fuchsia, and Science Of Mind really stand out for me.

All are just so pretty!! I agree that the rain volume has probably increased bloom and rebloom production. I love your Light of The World clump. And Kentucky Lucky and Berma!! And all the rest!!

My favorites are FLYING TRAPEZE & TAHITI SWEETIE. I love the colors ,etc. of both. I'm glad to hear that you've had no more flooding.

Fantastic group of photos. Hard to choose a favorite from this group. Flying Trapeze, Carnival in Brazil, and Tahiti Sweetie all catch my eye. Great clump of Kentucky Lucky. Cape Romain Harbor, Light of the World, and Oh Great One are also lovely.
