I believe you did the right thing by keeping it out of direct sunlight after it had been devided. If you are growing this orchid outside, you may want to water more often than just once a week. In summer, I water my orchids every day but this might be too often for your area. If the "dead" pbulbs are still firm, I wouldn't worry too much. The plant might just be a little stressed due to the dividing and also being put in a new environment. However, if the backbulbs are becoming soft you may have a problem. Also, if it has been 4-6 weeks since the plant has been devided, you should consider fertilising "weakly, weekly". This is particularly important during the time of active growth. Good luck

The top 2 ingredients are polymer-coated urea and urea. It's fine. The urea goes in instantly, the polymer-coated urea has to wear away in rainfall. Organically-derived sources of N (soybean meal, cottonseed meal, feather meal, etc.) would require warmer temperatures and bacterial action. This stuff doesn't.

Hand pull what you can and (and hope it hasn't seeded yet) and use a pre-emergent in the spring. Not worth trying to kill now, its going to die soon anyway.

Cindy, I didn't have your exact symptoms, but I have had a lot of trouble sleeping over the past few years. A few weeks ago I decided to look at controllable physical reasons, and I cut out all caffine and spicy foods after 1 p.m., and now make sure I don't eat a heavy meal after 6. Then, I looked at possible external reasons and decided to stop watching TV in my bedroom, and I started playing relaxation CD's at night at a very low volume (downloaded to itunes and played continuously throughout the night on my computer). I find that I don't toss and turn all night like I used to, and the music helps me drift off very quickly. I think the ocean sounds and the sound of rain and soft music help me fall asleep more quickly and keep me from waking up. I feel much more refreshed in the morning than I have in years.
