Here's the Snoqualmie Falls granola cookie recipe. DH is not a big baker but he's health conscious so when he made these the first time he couldn't bring himself to put butter in so he used the light, watered down Promise margarine. I said OMG that will never work - he said it says for baking - it worked fine. I'm not sure how much whole wheat flour he uses - the majority is whole wheat and some regular. He's into this Snoqualmie oatmeal and orders it online. They sent him this recipe one time but it didn't come with any nutritional info unfortunately. When I log them in my tracker I just use an oatmeal raisin cookie. The cookies are kind of heavy and chewy - not sure if that's how they're supposed to be since he's never made them according to the original recipe. They're tasty though - toasting the almonds is critical to the flavor - don't skip that step. FAMOUS BREAKFAST COOKIES First make the Healthy Delicious Granola Stir together in a large bowl: 3 cups Snoqualmie Falls oatmeal 1 cup freshly roasted sliced almonds 2 tsp cinnamon Heat in microwave for one minute and add to the oatmeal mix: 1/3 cup salad oil 1/3 cup honey (we use agave nectar instead of honey because it never solidifies like honey) 2 tsp vanilla Spread on 2 greased pans and bake in preheated 325 oven for 8-10 minutes Stir and don't over bake; mix should be honey colored. Add: 1 cup raisins or craisins Store in an airtight container for up to one month. Famous Breakfast Cookies Beat until fluffy: 1 cup butter (substitute light Promise margarine in blue tub) 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar Add: 1 egg (substitute egg beaters) 2 tsp vanilla Add and beat well: 1 2/3 cups flour (substitute some whole wheat flour) 1/2 tsp baking soda Add and mix thoroughly 3 cups granola Dash of salt Chill dough a few hours or overnight. Dough can also be frozen and thawed in refrigerator. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees on an ungreased cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned and dry. Do not over bake.

"Elmer, Tub drains are smaller than shower drains. Given the same shower head with identical pressure and flow rate the tub is going to drain at least somewhat slower than a direct shower drain" I looked it up and you're right about size - 1.5 inch diameter pipe is code for a tub, 2 inches for a shower. But I'm going to tell you, in my experience that doesn't matter. I had one of each that needed to be snaked in the last 6 weeks. Perhaps backwards from what you expect, the tub has a 30 year old shower head that predates flow restriction limits (I know because I bought it and installed it back then) and the shower has a brand new shower head with the new California flow standard. The tub with the unrestricted head now flows directly to the drain and goes down, no backup. Same with shower but with much less flow. As I said before, if your tub drain is backing up when showering, it's very likely there's a partial clog that needs to be cleaned out. California has enacted the nation's most restrictive rules for flow restrictions for plumbing fixtures and showerheads. The energy and water savings of these measures are staggeringly huge. Perhaps like so many other things, the rest of the nation will follow California's lead in coming years.

After you've used the paper towel on the handle to open the door of the public washroom and find no garbage container nearby into which to dispose of it, yeonassky, you say that you carry a plastic bag to put the towel into till you find a garbage container. If it's a usual kind that you've washed after having used for another purpose, then you're not using one more new piece of plastic to turn into junk. But if you use a new one, if you get milk in bags, would you consider washing an empty one into which to put the possibly contaminated paper towel, in order to avoid turning one more piece of fresh plastic into junk after just one use? At age beyond 80, I have no grandkids to help clean up the mess that we 7 billion inhabitants, which about 400 years ago were only about 1 billion, are making of the world. And plastic has been around for, what, about 60 years, more or less? ole joyful

I was kind of surprised at why I was dismayed. My DVR has actually been broken, so I've only just seen him tonight. I feel like he was talking fast, and yet, they ran out of time??? It's like on Big Bang Theory when Penny says "It's too burnt and frozen at the same time!", of people complaining of her cooking in the past. Seems impossible, but there you have it. All I can figure is there must've been superfluous commentary? But I'll just watch closer tomorrow for what is going on.
