Hi!!!!
I didn't know there was a photography forum here. I am a beginner with DSLR and I love macro photography, so here are some of my pictures I've taken this year (most recent to least recent)

Haha I didn't at first! and then when I did see him I had to go get my camera and take a pic of him! He's on a brugmansia

hello, While I really do not want to meet up I will put my two cents in, and give a website or two... some are for beginners and some are more technical. if you do not under stand some of the terms I suggest just keep reading, some people can explain some concepts well, while others will explain other concepts well. once you have gone thru these then you can just get out and shoot some pictures. Goodness, Liz, after schlepping the 300f2.8 on a two hr. hike this past weekend to see golden eagles my shoulders were shot for a few days, I cannot imagine ~hand-holding~ the 500mm (and in fact after seeing how sore I was with the 300, decided against purchasing the 500mm)....and then I see your images and know why I wanted one LOL. Amazing you photographed a pileated in flight, and I'm so envious,I've been trying to find my local barred owl for the past two years. Thanks so much for sharing your images! Debi in NY

Hey, my Minnesota hands still get cold when it's in the 40's! Besides I'm a native Floridan so that's my excuse. ;-) They were really THIN gloves. Right before the workshop, central Florida was having a pretty good cold snap, it got down in the 20's on the morning I arrived. On the boat we started out early and it could get a bit chilly, especially when we were moving. The secret to hand holding is really just common sense - hold the lens up only as long as you need to. Sounds like you're already doing that. ;-)

I purchased my DSLR a little over a year ago and have taken hundreds of photos in my garden. I have deleted many of them and have kept more than I should.

There are many times that I go out to do one little thing and I see something, have to hurry into the house to get my camera and scurry back to see if whatever is still there.

This morning, I had just finished dividing some of my iris and was toting my stuff back to the garage and happened to see a spider in its web devouring an insect. Of course I didn't have my camera, hurry-hurry and back outside. Aha, caught a bit of the action. Hooray.

At The Garden Party forum on GardenWeb, I have posted many of my 'captures' to share. Some have been listed as outside the house; while others were garden stuff. I enjoy sharing my gardens that way. Creatures, flowers and veggies are all the same to me.

Keep going and share more photos.

ps, I found photography forum after learning and gleaning much from the flower gardening. Actually gardening inspired me for photography.... Love both for sure....
