Hi!!!!
I didn't know there was a photography forum here. I am a beginner with DSLR and I love macro photography, so here are some of my pictures I've taken this year (most recent to least recent)

Haha I didn't at first! and then when I did see him I had to go get my camera and take a pic of him! He's on a brugmansia

Thank you, everybody, for your wonderful comments! Oldblush, I love my Gruss too even though it is virused. It shows mild patterns on some leaves in spring, but still blooms quite well. Mine is a grafted Star (?) plant. I have room next to it for a small rose and am trying to figure out what color would work with it and having lots of trouble... Ingrid, I understand how you feel about peonies. Herbaceous peonies won't grow here, and tree peonies take forever to reach any size. Mine is still very very little, and my husband keeps wanting to dig it up for taking valuable garden space. And yes, you are right, the bloom period is not long at all:-(. Masha

I am located in the Kansas City, MO area, not exactly California. I have grown Kordes' Brilliant in the Pacific Northwest and here in the midwest. It gets about 4 - 5 feet tall, has reasonably good disease resistance, but does benefit from a regular spray program. It is one of my first to flower and last to quit. Its growth habit is straight up, almost cylindrical, but spreading a bit. Its flowering habit is what you would expect as a grandiflora which would be a good class for this rose, but that class is not used in Europe. It blooms singly and in trusses as shown. The color in the photograph is quite close to real and is quite stable from beginning to end and through cool and heat. It does not have much of a problem with our winters here either with the multiple freeze-thaw cycles. It is fairly sturdy. It is one of the few that I have more than one of in the garden. It is available from Hortico and Vintage Gardens. I would put it as one of my better oranges.

Thank you guys! Cory, I have often left them, but this year I find as soon as they get plump, the birds eat them :-(. These last few weeks, many eggs were laid and we got them when they were tiny (like 8!). I put them in a little vase and kept feeding them fresh parsley from my organic containers. I had to keep lots of paper towels spread out to catch the poop lol! Once the started wandering away, we put them in a butterfly habitat (a little mesh cage) where they formed their chrysalis otherwise I'd find them climbing around my kitchen! Once they hatch, we release them! My daughters were so excited!!! Yes, the photos are those I took. In my previous life I was a professional photographer. It's nice to pick up the camera once in a while...thank you guys!

I purchased my DSLR a little over a year ago and have taken hundreds of photos in my garden. I have deleted many of them and have kept more than I should.

There are many times that I go out to do one little thing and I see something, have to hurry into the house to get my camera and scurry back to see if whatever is still there.

This morning, I had just finished dividing some of my iris and was toting my stuff back to the garage and happened to see a spider in its web devouring an insect. Of course I didn't have my camera, hurry-hurry and back outside. Aha, caught a bit of the action. Hooray.

At The Garden Party forum on GardenWeb, I have posted many of my 'captures' to share. Some have been listed as outside the house; while others were garden stuff. I enjoy sharing my gardens that way. Creatures, flowers and veggies are all the same to me.

Keep going and share more photos.

ps, I found photography forum after learning and gleaning much from the flower gardening. Actually gardening inspired me for photography.... Love both for sure....
