This is one of my better Austins, Windrush. It is a fragrant, delicate yellow that is also fragrant and repeats fairly well.

One you don't see mentioned much, but I like it when the weather is cooler, Sunsation, aka Veldfire:

One lavender that never seems to get mentioned, but is fragrant and has a whitish reverse, Silverado:

This one bloomed in a pot all summer and was a surprisingly good little trooper, Sengodea:

A good new grandiflora in nonfading yellow, even in the heat, and a credit to the person it is named after, Phyllis Diller:

Why I like Lilli Marleen:

This climber, blooms well at first, but doesn't do much afterwards except spotty, occasional flowers, Hotel Royal:

This climber, Constellation, would put many hybrid teas to shame. I wish it would bloom more.

This one, Cajun Moon, did fairly well in a pot in summer also:

And last but not least, one of my perennial favorites, Kordes' Brilliant:

Your Electron is pretty. I have one now, but it hasn't been going full blast since last year's bad Easter freeze. I think it will recover. Electron takes a couple years to get established, but once it gets going, and if it can be kept healthy, it will do quite well. Keeping it disbudded to make it one bloom per stem will keep you up nights, and it does have thorns. I hope rust is not a problem in your area because I have had problems in the past with rust on Electron. This is just a heads-up for that one. Your Christopher Columbus is quite showy. I haven't seen much of that one. I don't have it at the moment either, but it has a bright color. It appears similar in color to Kordes' Brilliant. That one can stop traffic also. Your Dream Come True almost looks like Perfect Moment, but I can't be sure because I am not growing Dream Come True. It has a nice color to it. The form of the flower is a question in my mind. The one you are unsure about, the pink and white one, could be any number of flowers, but it looks too shy on petal count to be Kordes' Perfecta, which I have, or Moonstone, which I do not have but have seen plenty of, and it doesn't look like my Secret. So, other than say it has a nice color to it, I have to withhold judgment.

Really appreciated all those roses. I just love to look at the roses--not just the blooms but the entire plant as well.

The bushes look so healthy and the blooms are fabulous.

Kordes' Brilliant is available from Hortico and Vintage Gardens. The Hortico version is grafted while the Vintage Gardens version is own roots. Hortico's grafted plant takes longer to establish because of the rootstock that is used.

I also posted a couple pictures of Glacier and Lady of the Dawn in the main forum thread about Margaret Merrill in case anyone is interested.

Wow, the absence of black spot is what I notice........what do you use for control?

I took these pictures in spring. I think that Phyllis Diller was on its second bloom cycle because I had brought it back with me from California in January and kept it in the house. It was blooming in the house in March. As to the blackspot issue, I have been alternating sprays using generic propiconazole (the active ingredient in Banner Maxx) and Daconil. The blackspot hadn't seriously started up at that point. When the weather got warmer and I couldn't spray, it really got going until the temps went into the middle 90s and above where it was too hot for it and for spraying. It started again in the fall when it cooled, and I started spraying out of desperation. I did manage to get it knocked down to a tolerable level. I appreciate all your good comments.

Kordes' Brilliant - I'd never seen this one and I WANT it now. Can you tell me more about it? Of course, you are CA right? I wonder if any southerners grow it.

I am located in the Kansas City, MO area, not exactly California. I have grown Kordes' Brilliant in the Pacific Northwest and here in the midwest. It gets about 4 - 5 feet tall, has reasonably good disease resistance, but does benefit from a regular spray program. It is one of my first to flower and last to quit. Its growth habit is straight up, almost cylindrical, but spreading a bit. Its flowering habit is what you would expect as a grandiflora which would be a good class for this rose, but that class is not used in Europe. It blooms singly and in trusses as shown. The color in the photograph is quite close to real and is quite stable from beginning to end and through cool and heat. It does not have much of a problem with our winters here either with the multiple freeze-thaw cycles. It is fairly sturdy. It is one of the few that I have more than one of in the garden. It is available from Hortico and Vintage Gardens. I would put it as one of my better oranges.

Your roses all look so beautiful, I really like that climber picture, Hotel Royal, wow, I love those pink roses. The foliage is incredible, good for you to bring them through that well, your spray program is working well.
