How do you like your dog?

Thanks to angelaid's post on hot dog buns, got me to thinking.

Favorite way is: split hot dog down middle, spread with mustard, add some cheese, wrap with bacon and cook until bacon is crisp. And eat with a piece of white bread around it.

Beans and things, LOVE THAT!

And yard dog, which has everything: cole slaw, onions, cheese, sauerkraut, chili, etc etc.

And just plain ole saurkraut and weiners!

Hold the hot dog and load up the bun with some sweet relish, ketchup, mustard, sourkraut and some vidalia onions.

I am just not a fan of the hotdog itself, but I love the rest.

To a dog park--no. The reasons listed in this post are all valid, and all boil down to one, really--irresponsible owners. But that's not the only reason I would avoid our local dog park. There's a bit of a unique side issue with the local one. Now, that being said, when DD used to raise Seeing eye puppies, we regularly had get-togethers with the other dogs--at our monthly meetings, at parties, fairs, parades, camping. Once a summer, we'd rent a fenced park (with a lake) for a picnic and we'd let the dogs run free and enjoy themselves. The big difference, though, was that these dogs were all up on all their shots, they were all well-socialized and knew each other and the humans, and we had 2 very well-educated leaders of the club who were able to handle any problems that arose. It was a lot of fun--for the puppies and their raisers.

Yesterday my husband and I drove around a little bit after work and found a street with sidewalks!! it is on the other side of the road, three houses over. I never saw them before because the sidewalks don't start untill a couple houses in (dugh! how stupid is that?) So we all went for a nice walk yesterday on the sidewalks and although it was dark I really enjoyed it! It just so happens that this street is in the next town over that does have sidewalks! Our town doesn't :( I was playing fetch (or trying to show Charley to fetch) and our other dog was on the other side of the yard playing fetch with my husband. When I picked up Charley's ball our other dog came running and Charley started a fight :( I was so upset. We looked our other dog over and he had a little scratch on his paw but seemed fine. I think Charley was afraid that Bud, our other boy, would take the ball when I threw it. We separated them in different portions of the house for the evening, because I was so upset. :( I hope that training helps Charley with this. I don't know his history very well (he is adopted) so I think he is nervous everything will be taken from him or he never got things before. He is dominant, but he listens to me and thinks I am alpha but he still sometimes picks fights with our other boy who is very submissive. So my plan is to sign up for training and then maybe move up to agility, if we can! Also we will be using the newly found sidewalk street as much as we can. We will be walking in the dark, but what can we do? I am going to call the training place today! I am pretty excited!

I wish I could say, but I am the opposite of you and can't smell very well at all. If a skunk is prowling about outdoors, everyone else can detect the odor before I can. Therefore I'm probably not the best person to answer your question. Hopefully others will be more of a help.

Much better news that the update I was expecting when I opened this. UTIs can be really bad and a bit tricky to doagnose in pets as well as people (young or old) with limited communication. Glad to know it's good news and she's doing better.

Sometimes I just want a plain dog with only mustard and relish with a shot of ketchup, other times I'm in the mood for mustard, chili and minced onion.

When it's cold and my grandsons (the big ones) are here they will cook them in the fireplace. I love them w/ chili and cheese and onions, or just plain ole mustard. I don't like relish. Corny dogs are yummy to me, but they have to be fried. The ones at the Texas state fair are delish!

I like a hot dog with a little mustard and a lot of onions, and the bun has to be warm.

In a bun, just with mustard. I love onions, but I don't think I've ever had a dog with onions on it?

And the dog should be slightly burned on the grill!!

Chili dog for me--from Dairy Queen. Or cooked on a stick over a bonfire until it's burnt black with a little Dijon.

On a toasted New England style roll, thre is too much bread on the kind of buns they have in FL. First you slash the dog and grill till it's burnt just a bit add grey poupon or a spicy brown mustard with relish and a bit of celery salt.

I could and would eat any mentioned above. What kind I want depends on my mood at the time. Speaking of hot dogs-I was wandering the small appliance section at K Mart today and saw a machine that looked like a toaster. You insert the bun and the hot dog (separate slots) VERTICALLY and it cooks them. I was curious and a little bit tempted, but I left it there. It was $20.

I love these dogs in my hometown.Called Hotdog with Everything.I worked there when I was a teen.The hotdog is fried a smidge,mustard,chili with secret ingred.old bay,with tons finely chopped onions mmmmmmmm delicious..

The dog that I'm dog-sitting these days is my friend's (female) Jack Russel mixture.

She's as full of energy as a coil spring - she wears me out!

She's friendly and affectionate, so I like her ... most of the time ... except when, still more or less a pup, she gets to chewing stuff!
