ssfkat3, I'm new to this forum too. I can empathise with you oh so much. Have been fighting deep depression along with some other major health problems for a couple of years. I want to get back into gardening this year too. I have no choice but to space myself as i run out of energy after about 20 minutes than i rest and start again. Do you need to space yourself in minutes? Can you sit and rest out by your flowerbeds. That can be a healing feeling too. I have a comfortable chair to sit in. If you need to lay down get an outside lounge chair. I also have a few angels placed throughout my flower beds. You say you have no will power. Yes you do. It may be down deep but you can bring it up when you have to. I don't have any will power either but i have the willpower to do everything to keep gardening for as long as i can do so. That means i have to pace myself now so i can garden in the future as long as i can. Time yourself with a kitchen timer,then sit back and look proudly at what you've done and think what those few spots will look like a couple of months from now. Than do a little more and tell yourself I did this much an i did,nt risk putting myself in harm so i can injoy this later. It sounds like you've come such a long way. So i know you can do it. vickie

I guess the the thing I do for myself, after thinking long and hard and reading this thread, and not sure how to answer...is living my life on my own terms. I quit a corporate job after they gave me grief for caring for my terminally ill mother. After that I bought a Fetch! Pet Care franchise (not a commercial!) and use my time to care for animals. I don't make a fortune, but that's okay. I love my job....which I really don't even consider a 'job'. I enjoy buying books and reading, both novels and homesteading type books. I really enjoy starting my plants from seed for the garden, mostly heirloom tomatoes and peppers. Growing things is such a nice thing...it just makes me realize how great it is to watch things grow from seed and eat your results! Nothing better. Because I am self-employed I also enjoy spending time with my dad. I can go over to his place in the early afternoon and watch a movie or right now we are into the early season of season 4 of The Shield. I bought him the 7 series set for Christmas. I suppose I do those things for myself because after my mom passed away I realize time is precious and I only have so much time with him. When he is gone I can't do that and I want to make myself available as much as possible. So I guess the nice things I do for myself are living for me and my loved ones and spending time and enjoying our pursuits that bring happiness. Also, I enjoy travel magazines, car magazines and other 'fantasy' things that spark my imagination. I doubt I will ever live in Bora Bora or drive a Lamborghini, but is sure is fun to dream! Duane

I guess this response is for doc, since the orginal thread is long dead. Put them on Craigslist, any local online sites. Get on all your local facebook groups, for sale, housing, ect ect. I sell all my stuff like that. I normally offer owner financing though. Contact a title company after you make a deal with the buyer. They will do everything for a set price, not a percentage like a realtor will. They will also make sure all the legal stuff gets done, disclosures, escrow issues, tax prorations, lead based paint disclosures ect ect. Its really funny to see the huge amount of paperwork a realtor expects you to sign, and then see the actual amount that is needed to be legal. It will save you lots of money, but be ready to field LOTS of calls, texts, emails from tire kickers and other assorted idiots.

After catching up on who has sent and received their packages, we're just about done with this swap, and I must say, you all are a crafty bunch...lol!!! All but two packages have arrived at their new homes, and of those two, one is one its way. I've sent a message to Connie to see how things are going along with her, and hope to hear from her soon. Thank you all for all your hard work and making this a great swap! I won't be playing in the April swap because I've got a busy schedule of roadtrips and tests, but things ARE getting better, slowly! I've begun a couple of new drugs this weekend and they seem to be helping my mental processes, so now I can focus on my lungs and sleep apnea. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
