Can I go to bed yet???

Yesterday I cooked for the Wednesday evening kids and High school kids and the adults that see to it.

Let's just asy I didn't intend to but was called on last minute to fill in...so I cooked up a pork shoulder, mixed it with some shredded pork in the freezer, made a green salad, made some BBQ sauce..made some blond brownies, mixed up 10 boxes of Kraft mac and cheese....bought lots of chocolate milk and did my thing with a short crew...

AND the drain plugged...

Finally the choir felt sorry and helped with the nearly waterless clean up, stepping around the guy on the floor with his head in the sink attempting to fix the mess...

Anyhow, this morning had to call a plumber and our retired accountant Mr Fixit board member ...LOL!..

Finally got all straightned out about 3....and I started to finish the dish washing..started the dishwashers and noticed water on the floor...

So I stood in the kitchen for easily half an hour watching to see if anything would leak. There was a puddle on the floor and I stared at it to see if it was growing.

Made me some quick chili for dinner using canned beans...

And spent time reading all the ridiculousness here....and now I want to go to bed.

BUT Chabby's not ready.

Bravo for you, Linda. Sounds like a perfect menu. They should put a plaque up in the church kitchen honoring your efforts.

I started out this morning by making four cakes with four different kinds of frostings for our church's upcoming Craftfest this weekend.

Dinner was leftover Middle Eastern beef and green bean stew. It had lots of mint, cumin, and cinnamon in it and the scent was wonderful.

LOL, Linda. You had quite a day, indeed! Hope all the leaks are fixed and you are high and dry.

Getting ready for oour annual hand-crafted Jewelry Show and Sale on Saturday. I have lots, so hope it turns into lots of cash!

Thank you for the replies! It has rained quite a bit since then. I looked into it, and the weed killer used was Ortho Weed B Gon MAX. The active ingredients are Quinclorac, 2,4 D and Dicamba. You know,Snoopy was so skinny and dirty,I didn't even know she was my cat when she came back to my door after being gone for 3 weeks,I stood there looking at her, asking her who is she,and where did she come from,and she kept looking at me with a very low Meow,Then I kept asking her if she is snoopy,and her meow got louder, then I knew it WAS my cat returned home. so I opened my door and let her in and she went straight to where her food dish and water is kept. nat4b;;I am so sorry you have lost your cat,and sorry my story made you so sad.It will get better soon. SARAH, the mulch is shredded cypress mulch.It was so cheap till I wanted to try some of it,I ran out and have to get some more soon, and the sale is over now. Sarah, What the others have told you is good advice. Back off the watering some. How deep did you plant the crowns? I would say 10 out of 20 crowns would show something 2-3 weeks if planted 4" deep (but in a trench for adding depth later). Some can take 6 weeks though with 4". If yours is deeper than that they can still get through but it takes longer. You were a little late planting so that may throw it off a little too from my experience. On the bright side when they exit the ground and see light, they will grow very fast, like a foot in a week and start to "Fern-out". They will be laughable in size compared to what you see in the store so do not be surprised or disappointed. They get larger in time. Asparagus can be tedious at times so read up on the OSU fact sheets in regards to them so you can be ready if you see trouble. Good luck! Christopher S. OKC

Toooo Lateeee! As usual I have jumped the gun and dumped all kinds of annual seed packets out there and have tiny tender little plants sprouting all over. But I know a few will survive and become stronger early starts, and seeds to start over a cheep enough. Where oh where am I going to put all those monster geraniums I still have potted up, and all the potted items I have coming up. I lost all my "in the house" window space to a visiting two year old who thinks all indoor flower pots are her personal planting area. She has repotted so many things. If only I had half her speed I'd have all my work done around here in just a day or so. lol so all I have left is the tiny refuge space in the basement.

Oh, dear, sleep tight tonight. What a day for you.

Dinner here? Pork chops, baked potatoes and a salad after a hair appointment. Tomorrow is work and then off to Michigan for a fun weekend with the girls.

Good grief Linda! Please, go to bed.

Nothing as exciting here. Noel has decided that after 14 years of being an indoor cat she wants to be outside. She has been escaping through the rip in the screen on the lanai. So, I waited half of the day for the screen repair guy who didn't show up at all yesterday.

I made leftover soup using the Sticky Chicken from Wednesday's Family Dinner Night. Threw in the leftover mashed potatoes, fried corn, and mushrooms--even leftover wine. DH loved it and wasn't the wiser that it was leftovers.

GOOOOD Morning!! Feeling like I might make it through the day after a good night's sleep!
Wishing I could see all Canoe Linda's handcrafted pretties and pop in on Annie and admire her clean floors.....but I think I also better cook up that grilled chicken carcass in the frig and finally make the switch from t-shirts to Turtle necks and sweat shirts.
Cathy....think duct tape....wonderful temporary repair for lots of stuff!

So, LindaC, how's the plumbing holding up?

Doucanoe, I'm thinking of a "sold out" weekend for you.

As for the floors, now Peppi and Sherry can get drunk and fall down and the carpet will at least be clean, LOL.

supper last night? Hmmmm. Leftover chicken with grilled potatoes and brussels sprouts. Elery left this morning to go back home, so it's back to doing my own cooking...

A quick throw together of my version of Pork Tenderloin sauteed in a dijon-caper sauce, sugar snap peas and See's Candy. Not totally healthy, but at 7:30 pm, it's dinner!

Roger now makes the meals since I don't get hom until too late. Last night was bacon and eggs and toast. I LOVE breakfast for supper!

Wow Linda, you have my admiration. You deserved that good night's sleep.

For me, dinner was a hamburger wolfed down while working at the computer trying to get documents on order for our library board meeting. I am president through the end of the year. At least I cooked the HB at home, it wasn;t fast food picked up ion the way home from work.

Dessert after the meeting was scraping the sticky stuff out of a foil container that had had sticky buns in it.

This weekend can't get here fast enough. Have good, all.

Wow Linda you did have a long day and glad you got a good nights sleep. Hope the plumbing is holding up. Sherry, we also love breakfast for dinner. We had Brunswick Stew, chopped fresh apples and crusty bread for dinner last night (thus the reason why I was questioning how others made Brunswick on another thread). It was great!
