Hey Paula, It's just moving in on us now, at nearly 11:30. I hope the wind and hail isn't as extreme as it was this afternoon. Everything took a terrific pounding, and the damaged front section of our poor barn is about to collapse. It picked up a big 14" planter tub and tossed it across the yard, as well as flipping some construction material around like toothpicks. My big redwood bird feeder went flying out into the pasture, but seems to have somehow survived. I think we can patch the tear in the swimming pool rim where the hail punched a big hole, and so far the pool is still holding the water. So far, so good. Right? I sure hope some of the rest of you get the rain and no damage to go with it. Pat

Thanks Jannie but Holly is a little poopoo head. LOL Spoiled rotten and knows it. Since she can get up on the furniture she has become a real menace. I caught her on my table this afternoon, picking pine cones out of the basket, dropping them on the floor and eating my African Violet plants. Are African Violets poisonous to little short legged dogs? I hope the roads are good tomorrow too! I bought, at a thriftstore, a hunter green LEATHER recliner for...get this...twenty bucks. The store agreed to hold it for me until tomorrow. I HAVE to get to the city to pick up the chair and go to the seminar as well. The storm is suppose to hold out until late in the afternoon and I'm taking the truck...all will be well. Lori

taddpeake, By now you've probably have the screen out, right? Sounds like your style storm window is mill finish (metal color) and only has two tracks, right so far? If I'm on the right page, the bottom screen in the outside track is removable by first removing the bottom inside glass panel and setting it aside. Then take the top glass panel in the outer track out. It is removable. If you were successful so far, now you can study the way the screen was put into the track. Looking down from the top, see if there is any play or space between the screen and the side channel it is mounted into. A larger gap on one side indicates the the screen is either moved right to left or the reverse and pops loose. You can then manage to pull the screen in towards you to remove. Now if all the above doesn't work, then I don't know. There are so many style storm windows and different methods of their removal. If above fails, write back and fill us in. It seems like someone could make a bundle selling these old Austins. I’ve heard there’s not much money in the small rose nursery business, but I think many would pay a premium for a couple of ‘Troilus’ and ‘Chaucer’ plants. There’s plenty of other old Austins that many are desperate to get ahold of, too. Suebelle’s pictures would have them flying out the door! Lisa
