That's funny "flowers", and the answer is, my "Gold Regal", greatly reduced to fit my head in a way to allow room for any of the others. I even had to reduce the "Blue Angel" considerably. My suggestion, only plant "mini's" in your scalp in order to have the room for the most possible varieties! John, you flatter me, but thank you just the same! I just have more "time" on my hands, lately, to learn how to "play" with these things! It really is not as difficult as some may imagine! What I do have, is a big imagination, and sometimes that is helpful in "coming up" with the ideas! However, Andrea and Jed did the work this time, in giving me the idea--I just had to put it together!!:O) janice BTW, Ken--I'm afraid the Hosta Journal might think this too "silly" for their magazine--but, thanks for thinking they might like to have it! Hiya, Looks like you really have your work cut out for you. It might be really helpful to visit some established gardens in Vegas to learn more about what really works down there. I visited the Gardens at the Springs Preserve when I was at a Landscape Confrence 4 years ago, and have remained on their mailing list. I can't belive the scope of classes, tours and demonstartions they offer, it's absolutely wild! It is under 4 acres and is very walkable, and everything is well i.d'd Looks like it has been established at least 10-12 years, so you can see some nice, fairly mature specimens. I believe it is sponsored by the SNWA(S. Nevada Water Authority.) Reno needs to catch up I'm afraid; we have a botanical garden at Rancho San Rafael park, but its pretty feeble by comparison. Larger than its Vegas sibling, but less info is disseminated.Maybe things will change w/ the new director Bill Carlos who recently came aboard. Quite a few interesting gropundcover and perennial plants will enjoy growing in this type of situation, plus it makes it easier for your folks in that they don't have to bend + kneel so much. Also investigate container gardening (on a separate drip zone). I saw some really cool planters in Vegas, that thrived in a patio setting. Some were very elaborate and had ornamnetal grasses combined with different annuals that trailed out of the pots.Very luscious! Good luck in your gardening adventures down south! Well seen...I dug up a sedum from the wild part of the yard 2 yrs ago and just love it...It seems to end up falling apart n the middle so I'm going to try cutting it back after it gets about 12 inches...I've heard that when you do that to (anything they tend to bush more and not flop open)Don't know for sure..but since I know it'll come back it'll be worht a try!...Oh, I nearly forgot-Nice pics! juanita

That's a nice shot. I'd love to have a few of those gorgeous pots. They are usually expensive at those places. Cloning is hard sometimes, good that you are familiarizing yourself with the technique. I'd rather not do it but have had to at times.
