Linda, mscsippy sent me this, just a bit ago, and I am just drooling. Thought you needed to drool too.

They are called Edible Arrangements! Picture just does not do the arrangement justice. And the smell is awesome!

This is what makes the KT so special, cause of wonderful friends, as Linda!

She sent some of the tropics for me to enjoy, which I certainly will.

how NICE! those edible arrangements are my fav, they have lots w/ chocolate dipped fruit too. dh & i don't send each other flowers anymore we send this healthy treat. ~ liz

Oh my gosh, isn't that nice of Linda!

Enjoy it Glenda, but it sure does look too pretty to eat doesn't it? Kinda reminds me of the edible arrangements I have seen on the cruises I have taken.

If you think the roots are badly congested, pot up slightly now, without disturbing roots other than to make a few vertical slits in the root mass and cutting an 'X' on the bottom of the root mass. If roots aren't badly congested, just wait. Get the plant outdoors and acclimated to full sun asap in May - as early as you can, as long as you're conscientious about moving the plant indoors when temps under 50-55* are predicted. The plant will respond extremely well to outdoor conditions. I would repot just after Father's Day. Let the plant recover until after the 4th of July, then cut it back as hard as you want to. The plant will back-bud vigorously, and you'll have up to around mid-Oct outdoors for the plant to recover .... again, if you watch temps. It's best not to cut back hard AND repot at the same time. If a plant needs both, I prefer to repot first, which leaves all the photosynthesizing machinery intact. After roots have recovered and have a good amount of stored energy, THEN you can pretty much cut back at will. Attempting stressful operations like a full repot or hard pruning are best avoided in winter and early spring for houseplants. Planning your repots so they take place between Father's Day and July 4th pretty much ensures a plant with good energy reserves that is better able to withstand stress than at any other period in the growth cycle. This, combined with maximum photo-period and photo-intensity, makes for the fastest recovery time and lowest vulnerability to insects, disease, or other complications related to low energy or slow recoveries. But although I don't eat horse, I have to say I'd feel better about eating an animal that has had a good life and been well cared for. Which is more than I can say about, for example, factory farmed meat. I'd rather eat a horse that's had happy life than a chicken that's been de-beaked and spent it's life unable to scratch, penned in a wire cage, pumped full of growth hormones and antibiotics, and fed feed with protein derived from chicken excrement. The longer you think about it, the more you (well, I) question society's values about animal welfare. But the fact remains, horse owners in the US are sending their 'no longer useful' horses for slaughter for meat export. So, what's the alternative? They're still going to slaughter those horses. Isn't it better that the carcasses are eaten so someone benefits? Or do we bury them, as though they're humans? I'm not meaning to get at anyone, because I know this is a difficult thing to think about, but I'm just exploring the inconsistencies in our approaches to animal welfare.

Check the colors against your furniture and such. If you are starting with the walls first then I suggest you do like I did. After painting my 25"walls by myself, yeah really scary up there, I did the following: We purchased a rug that had all our favorite colors and put it in our family room as the anchor. I went to store and picked one of those pallet cards that gives a group of colors that go together. Mine are the Biltmore Estate colors. All my favorites are there with even a few I would never have thought of. And it turns out all the colors in the pallet are actually in the rug we got. It took a few months before we realized that there were colonial blue areas in the rug that actually matched the blue we used in one room. I used the neutral tan for my entry and stairwell, used a lighter version of the tan for my kitchen, family and hallways. I used the red in my livingroom, hunter green in dining and the blue in my upstairs bonus room. I just did my guest bath using the same blue in the rug andthe bonus room and it is actually my unexpected color in the house. It matches all the other colors but you would never really think to see it. But together they all match really well. I carry my colors in my purse and use them all the time when I am out and about and tempted to get something for the house. So pick that tan and find a pallet that goes with it, it really helped me a lot.

I was a thrift store junkie for years, and have to restrain myself now to only what I need, not what I just want. We have this AWESOME Goodwill Bargain Barn here where you dig through bins of stuff and tables of clothes. Most of the clothes are last season's stuff from the regular GW, so good clothes. I've found some wonderful bargains...clothes are $1.69 a lb., so well worth the digging. Linens are $1.29 a lb., and I got a beautiful designer bed comforter and shams for less than $10. I bought a matching bed skirt at another thrift store for $5. I looked up the name brand, and most of their stuff goes for around $100 a set, so what a buy! I haven't shopped at a "real" store for so long, I wouldn't know what to do if I had to.

Gee thanks for the compliments everyone. I'm blushing. I just felt so bad that Glenda's long awaited cruise trip was cancelled. Glenda, I'm glad you are enjoying the fruit. Maybe you'll be able to take a cruise and be in the real tropics in the near future.
Ladies, I know some of you have talked to Glenda either in real life or on the phone. Today was the first time for me. She is absolutely delightful to talk to. I'm glad we had an opportunity to have a conversation.

Glenda--if you mix a pkg. of cream cheese and a jar of marshmallow fluff (Kraft) it makes a wonderful dip for straberries. Those berries sure look delicious.

Wow so glad you brought that back up Ms Glenda. I have been seeing their commercials on tv and wondered if anyone has ever recieved one...should have known to look here LOL how thought of Linda to do that for you!! Now wonder if they deliver something like that in my area...I would love to send one to my neighbor who owns the flower shop and what do you send to someone who already has flowers LOL STacy
