I would definitely have it repainted.

I am guessing that a painting contractor did the work? I missed your first post. Did the contractor just have SW mix the wrong color, or did the SW person mix it wrong? If SW mixed it wrong, who picks up the tab for the repaint?

The painter picked where he had the paint mixed...If it was mixed wrong than the painter can work that out with the company who mixed it for him.I'm sure he does a lot of business there..Read through the attached link ...Get what you pay for..

The painter messed up and he should redo it at no cost to you. No problem if he wanted to buy the paint elsewhere but it was his responsibility to see to it that it really did match the SW colors. He made the decision so it's his responsibility.

Now, it'll set your schedule back and that's unfortunate. Personally, I'd live with the set back schedule and have it repainted. I have SW Concorde Buff in several rooms in my house and I do love it....but I couldn't imagine living with something a bit "brighter" than that. Yellow intensifies when it's on the walls, you now have it throughout your house. I don't think you're going to be happy with it when you've lived there a while and will wind up wanting to repaint. It's far easier to repaint when you're not in the house plus, even if the painter gives you a difficult time about redoing at no cost, you should at minimum get the job done for a HUGELY reduced price. If you try living with it for a while then you'll have to pay full price (or DIY) when you repaint.

Sorry, I'd repaint if I were you.

This happened to me with SW paint. The bright yellow I wanted looked different on the wall, too green, not orange enough. The paint contractor said, "Yellows always look different on the wall." I questioned him a few days later and he said, "I checked, the name on the can is correct." I questioned him a month later and he said, "It takes a year for the true color to settle in with yellows." How convenient is that, when his warranty expires after one year?. Turned out, the name on the label was correct; the formula was for a yellow that has a name one letter different from the name I specified. Then he said, "Both names have the same formula." The store was willing to replace the paint; the contractor was unwilling to repaint the room, a very complicated room with high ceilings, strange angles, a loft, etc. (I had no choice in which painter I used for my new construction four years ago. I'll never use him again, though.) So yeah, it happens. I feel the contractor had an obligation to get it right, but I gave up arguing with him. He lost any good will he might have had. The builder laughed at me, saying I was obsessed with color. Well, duh.

Were I in your shoes I would ask myself whether the paint color on the walls is something I like, and will go with my furnishings even though it wasn't what was expected. If the answer to either of those questions is "no" I would take the time to repaint. as much trouble as it may be to repaint now, it's much easier than doing it later after all your furnishings are in, and you've hung artwork on the walls. Since the painter didn't use SW for the paint, it is his responsibility to make it right for you if you decide you want to change the color.

Sorry this is happening to you, but as far as things that can go wrong during a construction process it's not the worst thing:-)

Definitely repaint. You'll be unhappy with it forever and wishing you'd stuck to your guns if you don't (I only say this because you did notice it and didn't sound happy at all with it). It's a small inconvenience now -- looking back at our build I wish we'd taken care of some of those things that would have prolonged the build. Once you're in, it's SO much harder to get them done!

Thanks for all your replies! Here's another obstacle.... We feel like we can't even make a thoughtful decision for at least another week. Both my husband and I leave for work before the sun is fully out and we return when it's getting pretty dim. We both work over 35 miles from where we live and can't just pop by during the day and take a good look in broad day light. My attempts to see it before and after work resulted in this kind of lighting:

It looked ok to me, but again, tough to tell. Unfortunately, we are going out of town this entire weekend, and so the earliest we can make a decision is next Saturday when we can see the house in daylight. This stalls things a bit bc if we decide to repaint the house, it would change the humidity levels in the house, and we've been trying to bring those down so that we can bring in the wood floors to acclimatize or whatever.

We rolled some of the real SW Concord Buff on the wall, and it doesn't match exactly, even in the dim light. We keep asking ourselves, does that extra drop of yellow make a difference (yes, I'm sure it does). I feel like I like the current color, but I worry that I'm saying that just so that we can get on with this project!

But if that's the light you'll be seeing it most of the time, that's the light you *should* be viewing it in. It won't do you much good to see it in the daylight if you'll see it in the early morning and late evening most of the time anyway. It does sound like you're trying to talk yourself into liking the new color. If you really do, then that's fine; don't repaint. But if you're just trying to get around the inconvenience, do it now -- it will be REALLY inconvenient when all your stuff is in and you have to pay to have it redone!

Here's my paint story:
a few years ago, my kitchen/dining area in Powell buff. Well, liked it so much that I decided to do the living room in the same color. So I trotted off to the paint store, asked for Pittsfield buff because my little brain had forgotten what I got the first time. Got everything painted, furniture back, was sitting there a few days later looking when I realized it wasn't the same color! it was so close, that until I got out the paint chips and held them up to the wall did I realize the difference.
In the end, it stayed, because it wasn't enough of a difference to go to the trouble of changing, it was "good enough". No one else besides me would ever know it was the 'wrong" color.
There's so many other things to worry about, if it's good enough, I would leave it.
