**WOW! To score a grafted plant that is already 2 meter high! ** Yes! One of the most important and older rose nurseries in Italy, Rose Barni, has a good collection of Old Climbing Roses, that are availables only potted, "ready for flowering" as you can read in their catalogue :o): these are a 2 years old plants, grafted on R. laxa, ad average 2 meters high, sometimes more than that, depending on the variety's vigour, in pots of 18/20 cm ( 7" 1/2). Last spring, I bought from them a 'Cooper's Burmese', which is now more than 5 m (17') high LOL! Lady Hillingdon is in a pot, because I was thinking to have bought the bush form, but now -first year- she's 2 meters high, climbing up a pillar, so I think I have the climbing one. Not so bad, there's so much more to enjoy!! :o)) Hoov, I will take many pictures, ok? :o)) The "orange" splash colour in the picture above, under my selected Miscanthus sinensis seedling, is a Chrisanthemum x rubellum 'Lady Anne Brockett': it's a delightful variety, very long flowering. The colour change as the flowers mature: they open in coppery apricot, then changes o salmon-peach, then pink... ;o) ciao! Maurizio PS: I was discussing by now about this thread with a friend, which has a rose nursery, specialized in rare, historic and old roses. "You must to have 'Chromatella! I'll present it to you". So, this is the story: I will have soon also 'Cloth of Gold'. But definitely NOT have the space!! What's the solution ...? The mother and the son, maybe togheter, in a soft yellows' hug? Sounds nice....!!

Yes, I am sipping hot tea after doing some 'inside' work, after looking at the extended forecast I decided that Spring WILL start on this Sunday. Putting out my flag didn't help keep winter away, but now this is it for me!!!LOL. Don't see too many nights below freezing in the forecast for next week, so I am setting up my garden. Putting out my 'garden art' and benches. This time last year I had two different varieties of daffs in bloom, but right now they are still in bud. I ended up getting just shy of an inch of snow, and it was the heavy stuff, It is pretty much gone now, a few more flurries were hanging on, but nothing really stuck, The sun is actually out now, and I have the urge to get out there!!! The daffs are recovering as they always do, many were flattened out!! I will most likely keep Whiskey, I think after all that, I would worry about him and miss him. He did actually have a vole the other day, freshly caught!!! His skills are probably good due to being a street kitty for awhile. So he will earn his keep. Oh, flowergirl, there is no really helpful therapy for the auction, so you just bid away!! What you have to do is just keep thinking of ways and spots, to add more daylilies to your gardens, and that can be quite the challenge. cindy

My youngest grandaughter got a DS (hand held nintendo game) for her birthday from her "rich" grandma and grandpa. She could not hardly wait until Christmas to give me her gameboy. She knows what a gamer nut I am. And I always played her gameboy when I was at their home watching them. And with the Monopoly game in it. I absolutely love it. I play it all the time and carry it with me in my purse... Can you picture that....a 63 year old granny with her gameboy... And yes I've bought more games for it...yeehaw...I love it. I could just kiss her everytime I pick it up. Oh...and I've got to tell you...when Bradley (her 8 yr old bro.) knew she was giving me that...he had to dig around in his room to find something his grandpa would like...LOL...he got a rabbit skin....that made me laugh. I had to warn Denny to really act surprised and happy. patti

Excellent quilting! I have got to learn to FMQ. And I used that fabric with the gold stars in a quilt for DGD. I am using up the very last bits of it. nice to have something at work that reminds you of family. Theresa
