I know some of you buy from CSA's. How many of you buy from organic CSA's? I waited for about 6 months to get on the list for mine. I picked up my second box on Wednesday. I just went to clean and soak the broccoli and there were actual worms wiggling around in it and on my chopping board. YUK!!!!!!!!!!!! SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!! No friggin way. I can understand a bug or two, but come on!
I grow vegetables in my back yard and I would never eat anything like that. Nor would I let it get to that point if I was depending on it. There are organic practices out there that you can use to deter and even kill pests.
Anyway, I just want to know how the quality of your organic produce is compared to mine. Most everything has been sub standard compared to the grocery store and even to my own garden. Of course, I wouldn't realize it was sub standard if I didn't grow organic veggies myself. And!! I am not a nut about everything looking perfect. It's ok with me if some things have a few holes in the leaves. Like eggplant or tomatoes, etc, even leafy greens if it's only a few holes (not looking like someone shot it with buck shot!). This CSA is $30.00 per week. I have an every other week pick up.
Please tell me how your experiences are.
