Well, box, that particular garden has many purple heucheras as well as some heucherellas and tiarellas with purple veining. I also have a red leaved loropetalum that is to the right of the sum and substance hosta. They are in a sun shaft so they do get more sun than most of the rest of that garden. I also have some variegated polemonium that adds touches of pink/purple and a clematis with purple/magenta blooms. For the ground plane however, I rely heavily on the heucheras, they are so indespensable for that color - I intermingle them with the lysimachia for contrast. I like to create a tapestry of color at the ground level and add explanation points of interest with cool shrubs and perennials and the like. A note on heucheras, they are short-lived and tend to heave in winter. And they especially do not like their crowns being covered with any kind of mulch. It's kind of tricky but I mulch them up to a few inches of the crown and their canopy of leaves covers the bare ground that is left so the result is no weeds. They really need good drainage as well. I've had them in full sun to full shade and that doesn't seem to faze them, but the drainage and crown rot issue is key to their survival. Ditto with the heucherellas and tiarellas. Yaaayyyyy! DH is on board w/ the idea! I didn't even have to prod or run down my 'Why this is a practical, good and ultimately money saving' bucket list. Not that we're getting it anytime soon though but it did find it's way onto the 'Budget List' after we got home. So between me saving a few buckes a week, DH's alotted budget towards it down the road and me hopefully selling some of my rehabbed furniture finds this Spring, hopefully I will see a new sofa this Spring or Summer. When I bought this sofa I never thought of things like padding shifting over the years and allowing the frame edge to be felt if one's head whacked it. I still think it's a good sofa and am pleased that both my MIL & SIL have each been through a total of 4 sofa's in the same amount of time and I think that our's still looks way better than what there's look like now. If I had space to store it (sans mice in attic & smelly basement) I would keep it in a heartbeat for the day I had a larger room to put it in once I got it reupholstered. Looks like I'm going to be on a decorating - repurposing - using what I have run soon! DH felt confident about hanging my attic chandies and flip-flopping the LR and Office! Whoo hooo! I'm sorry Kbmas0n, I wasn't ignoring you, I just forgot to check back to this post. That is our daughter's shared bedroom, playroom, tv room, art room and bathroom area. We redid the upstairs of our 1/2 story home, the upstairs is hip roofed and full of dormers. So if we had cut up the spaces it would have made small, dark, oddly shaped rooms. Instead we reframed the dormer areas, put in sky lights and opened the whole space up .. then gave upstairs to our girls as one big loft like area. I'll put a link a the bottom if you'd like to see more pics as we are working on it and pulling the room together. Cassma, that color is a custom color or really an Oops! ;) *LOL* I was having a hard time finding the perfect lime green. First I bought SW Shagreen, it was pretty, but it wasn't bright enough to go with the other colors in the room. Next I picked out BM Pear Green, which full strength was about neon in that small space. *LOL* So I started mixing .. I cut the Pear Green by about half with the white trim color, then added in a touch of the Shagreen and that's the final wall color in the bathroom up there. :) Here is a link that might be useful: Upstairs

I don't know how large of an accent area you are speaking of, but mother of pearl tile comes in almost pure white to beiges and tan, to hues of blue. My bathroom remodel is about to get underway. It is all ordered and demo date set. It's mostly Torreon Travertine, My sinks, tub, baseboards and doors are white. I am adding a mother of pearl tiny brick laid tile to the face of my built in shower bench. It is white with tan. I bought samples from Tilebar.com I chose mini brick oyster white.
