I have a similar issue with a Bolens 8HP XL Chipper that only shows a model number of 47018 on a sticker with the serial number. When looking for the blade/knife when using this model number on the web it keeps wanting to use part number 981-0490 and what is shipped to you is 781-0490. Difference being that the machine blade hole spacing is 1 ½” or about 37mm using 5/16 screws and it’s about 3” long. The part shipped to me has spacing of about 1 7/8” and 3 3/8” long. So far in my search for blades some expert mentioned the fowling; “ Bolens went out of business and was purchased by troy-bilt, when troy-bilt went bankrupt they we sold off in three different directions. Most of the chipper shredder business was sold off to Murray; Who then went out of business twice. Most manuals and parts were thrown in the dumpsters. ONLY Two semi loads of parts went to Murray who is now owned by Briggs and Stratton by Name only” I then found that the model number of mine may have been MC2800 that was made with the Bolens name and just a tiny difference can be seen. Also notice that this W-W Grinder Renegade 250 Chipper was very much the same except the hammer heads for the shredder unlike my lose flails/hammers dangling ones. In short, I’m left searching for a misfiled part number as I need a blade that is Length: 3.00 inches Width: 1.25 inches Thickness: 0.25 inches and Hole Spacing: 1.50 inches and it seems the Troy-Bilt fits these model numbers too; 47057 47058 47024 47321 and others or these part numbers; 1764810, 1764810MA(Murray #), 1762645. Found so far for my Bolens is this part #1764810 perfect size lowest price at; https://www.chalmersindustries.com/product-p/1764810.htm and you can give these guys a try for any part. A long time ago, I did a Mint Mate install(actual install, not live) onto a 16GB Gigaware USB flash drive. It booted slow as molasses and the first time running apps was just as slow. It ran fine afterward though. I considered getting a faster flash drive such as a SanDisk Extreme, but it wasn't it my budget at that time. I seem to remember playing around with bcd.exe but my memory is short. Some day I'll have to give EasyBCD a try. In the meantime, GRUB works for me. An extraordinarily boring (and embarrassing, mostly because I flubbed customizing GRUB2 because I'm too lazy to learn to use it properly right now) video of my installing Mint Mate alongside Windows 10 in a virtual machine... I suppose the point is that they can, at least sometimes, live happily beside one another. I was really expecting Mint Mate to offer to "install alongside windows" and auto-partition but it did not. Don't some other Ubuntu based distros do that? Or is it just full blown Ubuntu? Anyway, after all my stumbling, doing it incorrectly, redoing etc., Grub now reads exactly the way I want, remembers the previous boot choices etc. ... That's just a virtual machine though. I wouldn't suggest others try it on their real machines. I suppose if one were to practice setting up a dual boot system, a virtual environment would be the safe place to learn, right? BTW, I used Oracle's VirtualBox in the above videos. Free and open source. Oops, I just read the warning on the VirtualBox download page: "Please be aware that Windows 10 is not yet officially supported!" Oh well, seems to run fine for me.

Has anyones lock fault problem been intermittent? A few times over the life of my machine prior to this latest problem I had the door fault beep and if I pushed the door and cancelled it was still locked but if I ran a drain/spin it would unlock. Maybe this happened 1-2 times per year. Then the current problem happened and I just couldnt get it to unlock untill I powered the machine off for 15 min. I managed to do a few loads that day - but then it happened again. Took multiple times tripping the circuit breaker (plug is not easily accessible) and eventually I got it unlocked. Ran a drain/spin cycle to test -- and it faulted and wouldnt open. This was when I started posting here and scheduled service (which is coming today). Eventually, I left the circuit off for a few hours and when I powered back on the door unlokced. I have done about 10 loads without the fault or failure to unlock. So now not really sure what to do -- the service person is coming today (for another appliance too so I didnt cancel) and perhaps I want to ID the parts with them and get a quote even if I wait. Just strange it was so stubborn and seemed so broken but now has worked for that many loads. I will have him look at my problem with not being able to do the manual open. If I can figure this out the 3D printed part would help if this comes back.
