Dash and Albert indoor/outdoor rug...advice?
Comments (8)I have a navy & white runner between my island and sink/countertops at our lakehouse. There's plenty of foot traffic back there, and lots of food prep. Everything has washed off that rug - spaghetti sauce, blueberry jam, spilled coffee, etc. I've had it for 4 yrs. I spot clean it and vacuum regularly. Early spring and late fall I put it out on the deck on a nice day and give it a good sudsing w/ detergent, hose it off and let it thoroughly dry in the sunshine. It looks practically new. My daughter has the black and ivory striped one under the dining table where her family (w/ 2 little ones) eats every meal. She cares for hers much as I do mine. She's had it for 2 yrs and it looks great. Between us we own 8 Dash & Albert rugs. Two are woven cotton & the rest indoor/outdoor. I can highly recommend, but would advise a rug pad for the runner to prevent slipping & sliding....See MoreLooking for colorful, 'cottagey' rug
Comments (6)This is funny... I had already seen the LL Bean rug in my search (when I was looking for another rug that they used to have but no longer carry!) and thought, "Naah, don't like the plaid." But then I looked at it again, and showed it to DH who proclaimed it "cool," so now I'm really considering it! So thanks for the reminder! I looked at some braided rugs too but for some reason, I'm just not really a fan of braided rugs. (Having said that, the old rug in this room was an indoor/outdoor braided rug that worked just fine!)...See MoreRug: size/color for my entryway?
Comments (11)Thanks for your reply my3dogs... Our entryway ended up smaller than I originally wanted - the width is 57" so 5x8 is just barely too wide. Ah! I'm thinking an indoor/outdoor made of polypropylene. Yes...the ability to wipe feet is needed...we live in Michigan. This area is pretty much only used for guests, though, so it isn't heavily trampled on... The dash and Albert runners are 2'5" so are a touch wider than many I've seen at just 2". This is tricky!...See MoreRug for Living Room
Comments (4)Sure! By the way, I'm liking the Gilfillan rug even more 'cause it ties in with your countertops and backsplash. I'd suggest going with clear acrylic stools to tie in with the glass pendants and not take up visual space since you noted the open floor plan is small. Another option is going with an industrial stool to tie in with the coffee table you've chosen. Below are examples of each, with the caveat that these exact pieces might not be right for you (you might need a back, etc), but just so you get a sense of the look I'm suggesting......See Morechris11895
