I don't know any Susans in real-life, only those here at the KT. I think that's odd! I don't even work with any Sues, Susans, Suzannes, etc. I wonder where they all are?

Just one now, and she is not a close friend, more like an aquaintance, she is Joe's sister-in-law's close friend.

My kindergarten teacher was Susie and I think all through school I only knew one Susan and one Suzanne. Oh, and I have a cousin Susan and a cousin Suzanne, neither of whom I've seen since I was a teenager.

Aside from all the ones here at the KT, I work with 1 Suzanne and I am friends with a Susan (but we call her "Micro").

Besides the ones here, I can only think of one other - my SIL who goes by Sue.

Lots of Carols in my life - only 1 Susie that I work with that I know now.

Three, not counting myself. One of my best friends is a Susan.

My sister is a Susan (birth certificate) but calls herself Suzanne. I have known a few others over the years. One thing I have noticed over the last 10 years or so is that my name, Clare, is becoming popular. I hear it in TV shows, movies and books. When I was growing up I was the only one I ever met with that name and I am 56.

One of the nurses at dh's doctor's office is named Susan. Other than her and those here I don't know any.

Only 1 Suzanne I know here in town. My X-SIL was a Susan. I have no Sue's in my Family.

When I lived in Austin, I was tongue tied half the time over similar but different names of close friends. A Sherry, Cherry, Shelly, Sara, Shanon, Sharon, Sean,Sandy. I could never get it all straight. I just wanted to say sh*t!

But, they did all remember MY name! I'm usually the only Gayle.

I don't know six, but DSS sure did. Just about every girl he dated was a variation of Susan--even dated a Sioux (he called her Sue X). We teased him that he only had to remember one name.

Seems that there are lots of "Baby Boomer" Susans. I happen to be one of those, but I am named for my great grandmother.

I was at a meeting recently where there were three Susans!
I think I know seven others...most in my age group, one the daughter of a friend.

I don't think our name is so popular any more. I'm not aware of any very young or newborn Susans.

My best friend is Susan (Sue) and my youngest sister is Suzanne (Suzie).

My daughter's middle name is Susan and she hates it. I thought I was giving her a beautiful name when she was born. :(

I am a Suzanne, my next door neighbor is a Susan, another neighbor down the road is a Susan, my step brother's girlfriend is Suzanne, my DH has two cousins who married Susans. That's off the top of my head. We should try playing the same game with Michael (I'd probably reach 100!).

I don't consider Suzanne to be interchangable with Susan.

Susan was a top 10 name in the US from 1945-1968. It is #611 now. Suzanne peaked at #52 in 1946 and hovered from 60 or so to 100 or so until 1973. It is not in the top 1000, so it is now unranked.

I used to say if I had a daughter I would name her Emily, after my aunt. The universal response that it was a horrible, old fashioned name and a modern child shouldn't be saddled with it. And now it's #1, so I can't use it! Sofia is another one I like, but Sophia is on the top ten list.

Kitchen backsplash was recently installed by a Susan and there is a Susan living across the street.
There are many more that I won't list but interestingly enough there is not a single Susan in our family.

I know several, but they mostly have different variations so I don't get too confused. Susan, Sue, Susie. A friend, neighbor, office secratary, team coach, my mother (of course that's not confusing to me, just "Mom"). I'm probably forgetting 1 or 2.

There was a time I knew about 5 "Debbie"s, no Debs or Deborahs, and didn't always recognize the voices on answering machine messages when they would leave them, before I had caller ID. If they only said "It's Debbie, call me back" I'd be mystified. Only when they mentioned what the call was about did I know which one to call back. Forget the times the left messages with DH! "Oh, Debbie called while you were out!" Thanks for nothin'!

Let's see. My best friend is named Susan, there's 2 Susan's at work, a Susan/Suzanne/Sue in my immediate social circle...and of course there's ME!!

Gee for a long time I thought "I" was the only Susan I knew. But for the last few years they're coming out of the woodwork!

Not very many, actually. There's me, of course (!), and my daughter Suzanne. Plus a friend I haven't seen in years and two current acquaintances. I think that's it.

Only 2. One is a KT buddy and the other is a friend I've had for 15 years who recently moved away. There were several Susans in my grade and high school but it seems that the name isn't as common for newborns anymore. The Social Security Admin ranks names by decades and in the 1940's it was # 10, now it's #610.

I know quite a few, of which I am one. I figured 90% of them out there must be around 50 years old, give or take about 5 years. Going by some of the previous posts, that must be about right.

Susan has always been one of my favorite names. I have several friends, coworkers, and even a cousin named Susan. I think it's a classy name. I wouldn't mind if Susan was MY name!
