How many 'Kathy's' do you know ?

I'm having a good laugh at this !

Recently , I've only known 2 Kathy's - and they are both my pals here !

Now I've met more ---

2 Kathy's from Craig's List ....

my best friend knows 2 Kathys besides me ....

I met 2 Kathy's at the farmers market ....

I worked with 2 Kathy's besides me ...

and one Kathy at a rummage sale ....

I'm just amazed because growing up - I never knew another Kathy !

My real name is Kathleen .... Alot of "Catherine's" go by Kathy ,too ..... but just about all these gals I met are Kathleen . I just had to ask .... It's little things like this that make me laugh ~~~ How many more Kathy's that you know are out there ?

PS \- the popular name in my family is Chris \- if we had a get together & you yelled out "Hey Chris " \-\- a whole bunch of heads would turn ! :\-)

My cousin is a Kathleen, went by Kathy for long time, now by Kath ,2 Kathy's at church & 1 that went to Craft Club & was a good friend but has passed on now. She was Cathy so maybe that doesn't count! So that is 4 I guess! Jan

Well, it's not as if the daylilies are very hard to take care of. Certainly no more so than any other flower and lots easier than most. And I had to do most of the hardscape as I needed a place to plant. By the time I had gotten the daylily crazies all the easier places to do a garden were all filled already so I started on terraces and raised beds. Lots of works (and money) but the results were so worth it. But I was so focused on daylilies that most of those things that were moved for hardscape projects (and mostly moved back) that died because it was never the right time of year to move things, I just let go. This sping started buying many and bringing back. Not always the exact same. Like I had ALASKA shasta daiseys (tall). I bought SNOWCAP this spring as they are dwarf and work better. I had some plain yellow yarrows and bought some stunning red STRAWBERRY SEDUCTION yarrows this spring. I bought the fancy new hot colors of coneflowers to add to my garden instead of the RUBY STAR and just plain purples that died out. I bought CHEROKEE SUNSET blackeyed susans instead of Goldstrum which I thought was boring. I bought new honeysuckle vines to replace some that died out. Well, you get the picture. I am not done with everything I want to add or bring back but I made a great big dent in that project. I also want to grow more zinnias as I deffinately love zinnias. The first year I had zinnias in amounst the daylilies in the 2nd terrace of the terraces garden. Coundn't do it years after. I have decided that I can get the look I want and have room for the zinnias by removing the middle grouping of daylilies from the second terrace and leaving the the ones at both ends. Since these are very favorite daylilies I am certainly NOT getting rid of them. Then upstairs in the garden that for year one I called the cosmos garden, second year snapdragon garden (as I planted those annuals to fill in) I want the color back. But I am cetainly not doing to dig up the daylilies and hack the clumping fans back to the two that I started with. So it get a look that works for me, I need to remove a daylily here and there in that bed and then put a spot of color in the empty space I left by moving the daylily. Again these are very favorite daylilies up there. They will not be leaving the garden. I am guessing that by removing and sending away about 50 daylilies I can have the look I want. So I will see what needs to go by evaluating during bloom season.

How do you know how many tomatoes? or amount of puree?

do you know of any recipes (annie's salsa) that are converted to a puree quantity like the KA strainer produces? Nope, no pureed salsas. The various tomato mills and your KA attachment are just for making tomato juice and smooth tomato sauces, not salsa. There are lots of pureed tomato sauce recipes but they are usually just tomatoes and various dried spices. Salsas are chunky, not smooth purees, and are made with either a food processor like a Cuisinart that chop or hand chopping or tools like the Slap Chop or what are called "salsa makers" like the one linked below. Because salsas contain many different low-acid vegetables like onions and peppers they have to be chunky to be safe to can. Canning pureed low-acid vegetables of any kind is pretty much limited. I shop at multiple stores. Pay day is every other Friday so I that is when I go to Wal-Mart or Smith's (Kroger owned). Every 2 weeks we also get coffee beans at the little mom and pop shop. We go to Sprouts every 2 weeks as their ads overlap on Wednesdays. This is actually getting less frequent as they have not put the bulk things on sale that I want the most as frequently (steel cut oats and short grain brown rice). The bread outlet is a once a month trip. Other stores such as Keller's (for meat), Trader Joe's, the international markets, Vitamin Cottage (for other bulk items), I alternate months. Some things I get through Amazon's subscribe and save and that can vary in frequency. Eggs are mostly from my hens and many of our vegetables come from our garden. Some of the variety in shopping is about the money savings but it is more along the lines of trying to match the quality to a certain price point and meeting my needs of acquiring a diversity of ingredients. Arborio rice at TJ's, quality meat at Keller's, red lentils in bulk at Vitamin Cottage, etc. Part of it is me trying to maintain a well stocked pantry because my moods are fickle and if the pantry has a variety of things, I can cook according to my mood. Pre-planned menus never, ever work for me.

I know several, but they mostly have different variations so I don't get too confused. Susan, Sue, Susie. A friend, neighbor, office secratary, team coach, my mother (of course that's not confusing to me, just "Mom"). I'm probably forgetting 1 or 2. There was a time I knew about 5 "Debbie"s, no Debs or Deborahs, and didn't always recognize the voices on answering machine messages when they would leave them, before I had caller ID. If they only said "It's Debbie, call me back" I'd be mystified. Only when they mentioned what the call was about did I know which one to call back. Forget the times the left messages with DH! "Oh, Debbie called while you were out!" Thanks for nothin'!

Egads! Who doesn't know a Kathy/Cathy? One of my old bosses used to laugh every time he heard me tell someone on the phone that I am a Kathy with a K and a Y. I remember in one high school class, there were 3 Kathys and we all sat diagonally from one another. So the teacher would look in one direction and call on Kathy. All 3 of us would answer. I don't think I ever worked anywhere where there wasn't at least 1 other Kathy around.
Btw, my real name is Kathleen too!

My boyfriend Bob (another horribly common name) knows 3 Lindas. One is his sister, one his late wife and one is his friend's girlfriend. Half the time when he talks about a Linda, I have no idea who he is talking about!

I was just wondering how many were named Kathleen for Kathleen Hepburn!! I didn't count the "Kathy's" on here as there are many! Oh, song "Take me Home Kathleen" I have no idea who I was named after. My dad was named after a box of chocolates- as they said he was so "sweet" neighbor had brought over the chocolates! Jan

Nope, I wasn't named after Kathleen or Kathryn Hepburn. he-he I have no idea where my mother got my name from. No one in my family is named Kathy, Kate, Kay, Kathleen or Kathyrn either.

I was at an optical store the other night getting an eye exam. One of the women working there was named Cathy. She was looking up my information on the computer and said, "Great name but you spelled it wrong." he-he I said I could say the same for her.

My grandmother was Helen Catherine. My mother switched the names around and changed Catherinr to Kathleen.

My husband's boss is Kathy, receptionist at work was Cathy, a Kathy volunteers at my husband's work, my husband's Aunt Kathy, friend's wife Kathy.

I know more Jens than any other name, except *maybe* Chris or Michael/Mike.

I know only one other Amy though, and we work together. :)

We just ate dinner with Cathy, our next door neighbor. My husbands grandmother was Katherine or Kat. I have a cousin that uses Katherine. Our dog is Kate. Do any of those Cathy sort of names count?
