I don't have pictures right now, but I can describe. Mine is for platters, but it's the same idea. The trick is to make a plywood box that just fits into the cabinet. Cut rectangular grooves in the top and bottom, and make fat C shaped dividers out of 3/8" plywood. My platters aren't that tall, so I had mine made with the top grooves in a shelf for doilies. This is a copy of my mother's design from 45 years ago. Works great.

You can space your dividers however they'd fit for you, or make the grooves every half inch so you can adjust later.

I wasn't sure if using dowels or soild plywood as my divisions would be more appropriate. I was thinking if I did 2 parallel strips of 1"x1" with holes every .5" or so, I could modify the distances as my needs change (assuming they change, who knows) by just swaping out the dowels, similar to how one changes the level of a shelf in a cupboard, and thus maximize the space. I was afraid if I did something more permanent with plywood, I'd be restricted with the spaces.

Everything I could find online seems to be evenly spaced apart and I don't think that will work as nicely as something I could change around.

But I'm probably over complicating things.

Ikea has something similar. I think I might like to switch to hefty pegboard (or board with holes) and slide it in and use big dowels so I could rearrange easily, but I'm pretty lazy and this does work.

Craftlady, I asked for the even spacing, which suits me. You could do the same thing with differing spacing, and have it adjustable just by making more notches and putting the dividers where you want them at the moment. The dividers are fat C shaped in front to make it easy to pull things in and out between them. They're square at the back.

I was wrong about the interior box. It can be/has been done that way, but my cabinetmaker just put in the fixed shelf and floor shelf that the notches are in against the sides of the cabinet. It would be easier to do with a full box if this is a retrofit, I'd think.

Embarrassing. I didn't see the dust until I started editing the pictures, or I would have cleaned before taking the shot. It's almost time to start cleaning for Pesach, anyway, but a little late in the day today. So. The top one shows the cupboard.
