I wasn't happy when I got my March 2009 issue (in Feb) and found out that Country Homes was discontinued and I would be getting Better Homes & Gardens. Here it is June and I haven't seen any issues of BHG. I e-mailed them- they couldn't answer my e-mail (?) so I called them today (6/15). I was told I would get my first issue in OCTOBER! That is 7 months after my last issue of Country Home. Their "customer service" rep told it is was because they didn't have enough magazines yet for all the Country Home subscribers. And then she told me they were extending my subcription until 10/10- two months after my Country Homes subcription would have expired. How is that extending my subcription when you give me 2 extra months but I have to wait 7 months to get the 1st issue. I told them NO THANKS-even though it wasn't a big amount of money I told them send it back and keep your magazine,

Nicole, Come with, the next trip maybe in 2 weeks, I might also go this week to exchange a plant. So you are invited to the next lunchon.. I will email you when we have an exact date, but it will be either a Monday or a Wed because one of the regulars works for Oceanside PD and those are her days off. Jennie, You can always come visit. If you ever come to So Cal, Carls bad is a GORGEOUS place to come relax, unwind and enjoy yearself at. If you have kids Lego Land is there and the beaches are GORGEOUS. Thera are also hotels for all budgets, Lacosta and the Four Seasons are the 2 high end ones and are right on the Lagoon and near the beach so the views are the BOMB. Let me know if you ever come out.

Mary, I'll have to take a look at the TH rooster. That price is way too steep for me. I don't normally decorate with roosters, just got interested after seeing Judith's gorgeous ones in centerpieces and Karen's vignettes with them. I only own one--a pretty candy dish from Marshal's for $3.99. LOL Sandi, most of my outdoor planting is done, just need a few more things. BUT, I do need to look for some clothes before our vacation comes up. I am not a clothes shopper--just do that out of necessity. Because of that, I keep holding back on buying dish stuff too right now. ;o( Luvs

Thanks for the kind words. We don't have majestic mountains or crashing shorelines or beautiful forests to capture around here. But, we do have some things that "don't grow on trees" everywhere. Like old abandoned farm homesteads. Sometimes the most interesting things around to photograph are the ones that are easiest drive past and take for granted. I had been saying for years I was gonna stop and shoot that old place, it half fell in before I finally got any shots.

I need to get out and grab a some more of these around the area before they all waste away.
