Broken Windows Fixed Quick with Dial-a-Fix dial a fix is a neat little tool and is used on the support forums, it is generally preferred that it be used with the guidance of support forum teams or from djlizards lunarsoft forum. It does basically what we have been doing by typing in the commands in command line but it does all the typing for you which is good because it is easy to type wrong of course. You can definitely try it just for this application. If you want to check out their forum here is the link Lunarsoft and a link to his wiki about dial-a-fix Dial-a-fix Lynn you could try going ahead to windows update and running it again it might give you the option to uncheck sp3 (to not install) if it does not and looks like it is going to install it you can always just hit cancel. OR another option is to go now and get that sp3 blocker tool I posted the link for in the sp3 thread and install that on your pc so that if it does try to install it that tool should block it.

We have a Nikon D40X, which has been discontinued in favor of the D60. You know you can't beat a DSLR. Not only is the picture quality amazing at the fastest iso settings, there is absolutely no delay when you take a picture. As a matter of fact, if sports are important to you, 3 frames a second in continuous mode is what you'll want. It delivers. It's also nice to be able to change lenses. I look at it as upgradeable. There is a drawback, size. Because of the size and weight of the camera we actually just bought a compact to supplement. We use the compact for everyday type events and the Nikon for the bigger ones (as long as I'm the one carrying it around). Okay, why'd I tell you all that when your looking for a compact? Because our compact is an Olympus Stylus 1010 and the picture quality rivals the Nikon. Both are 10 megapixel cameras (actually the Olympus is 10.1). Of course we can do much more with the Nikon but the Olympus is much more convenient when traveling or just taking everyday shots. The Olympus cost us $400 with extended warranty, 2x 2gig xD memory chips, and bag. You can get a Nikon D60 for about $650 is you look hard enough. And D40X for a little less than that. You're not pestering me at all--I don't often get a chance to sound smart! :-) I'm pretty sure the photo was posed. My father loved to do stuff like that. A scanner like this one would absolutely do a good job with photos. I think prints aren't mentioned much in the description or in reviews because it's understood that the scanner is fine for them. Its ability with slides and negatives is the big plus. The description says this, which might interest you: Enhance old photos: Built-in retouching technology removes much of the dust and scratches on original prints, improving image quality. I've scanned documents on mine, and turned them into PDF files. It's easy. As far as I know the scanner must make a wired connection to the computer, so it would have to be in close enough proximity to do that. Let us know what you decide. There's a maker for each person's individuality. 1st, You'd need to determine what is his level of photography knowledge? In any brand, there's intermediate, medium and professional level cameras. If he's a pro, you may just want to ask him what he'd like. A pro knows what he wants and mostly will not settle with just anything. If he's not, most intermediate and medium level cameras has both features: auto focus and manual focus. They're made for those that want to grow and learn about photography beyond autofocus features. 2nd, Does he owns any previous 35mm camera lens? Would these lens capable to be mounted on the new DSLR body? Such brand as Canon has been a favorite for many because of its interchangeable lens. Meaning, we can invest into the more expensive lens knowing that if we ever upgrade the camera, the old lens would still work with the new camera body as well. I have a few that I owned from the mid 80's and still work very well with the new DSLR. 3rd, The camera body and weight must feel comfortable in one's hand. It makes a different with the result of a photo. If all possible, take him to a camera store and let him play around, ask questions and make a choice of the Digital SLR (DSLR). Then, go online and purchase from one of the reputable online store. Normally, their prices are less expensive. Watch out for import (gray market) vs. US warranty cameras (price varies). Personally, I've always owned Canon. I had several Canon 35mm cameras and had since upgraded to digital: from the Canon Rebel XT to currently the Canon 40D (had it for a little over a month). As mentioned, I have a few lens from the 35mm cameras that works well with both DSLRs. I've upgraded to the Canon 40D because it has some image stabilizer built into the camera. Although, Canon also makes some lens with Image Stabilizer (IS). The lens kit of the Canon 40D camera comes with a 28-135mm lens that has the IS feature (mainly in the US). I don't plan to upgrade the camera body for a long while. I'm quite satisfied with the Canon 40D. Instead, I'm investing on better lens. And, that's what I'd recommend for you to do. If money is not an object, buy a medium price range camera but invest the rest on a good lens with low aperture capability such as f/2.8 or less. Good lens give the flexibility to take crispy clear photos in low light situation. I strongly recommend to read reviews from the 2 websites that Susan posted above.
