Airline is to give me a full refund, but heaven knows when that will be. Plus a $200 voucher on a round trip ticket. Wow!
$147 back from Carnival, which is a drop in the bucket. That, as travel agency told me, was mandatory, as it was taxes, etc.
Travel agent just sent me two letter she sent to airline and Carnival. She's asking for a full refund from Carnival. She was very good and explained that I had every intent, being as I boarded plane, and ready to go.
And that it WOULD HAVE been my 7th cruise with THEM!

Agent said for me to "sit tight"! That it will take time!

I kind of thought that might be the reason you didn't post. I just really, really hope Carnival gives you a full refund. You had no control whatsoever over the condition of the plane you happened to board. Did your Carnival package include the airfare? If Carnival booked the flight then I think you are definitely entitled to a full refund.

The travel agency booked it thru Carnival, so it was a Carnival package. US Air was the air carrier :o(

I would so love the trip you are going on. It will be fantastic!

Is US Air a difficult carrier to deal with or something?

Marilyn and I were just talking about the Amazon last night. I've always been fascinated with nature and wildlife but really wanted to go after reading the Poisonwood Bible. I'd love to go on an Amazon river cruise but I have a tough enough time dealing with regular, benign mosquitoes, can't imagine having to worry about malaria and all that.

Just never flown on US Air, and the whole process of telling us to leave the plane, rebooking connecting flights, and one on one with me and their supervisor and him with my travel agent was not the BEST experience.

No one single apology to me or to anyone! Or "sorry for the inconvenience"

Oh, I see. I thought perhaps US Air had gone out of business right after the incident or something.

Gosh, I hate feeling so powerless when dealing with big companies.

Two months ago DH and I bought a new sofa, loveseat and upholstered chair for our livingroom from a well-known, long established store here is So Calif called Wickes. We bought our first living room set from them when we were newlyweds in 1973.

The new furniture was delivered on a Saturday and we knew immediately we had made a mistake when selecting the chair. The following weekend we drove over to Wickes to ask them how to exchange it for another we liked. They told us, no can do, they filed for bankruptcy on Monday. What??? We then told them we would accept an even exchange for another chair that cost $100 less. Nope. grrrrr.
