This may sound like a really dumb question, but how hard was it to install? And, more importantly, would it be possible to uninstall? The reason I'm asking is that I would really like to install one in my kitchen. However, we may only be here for a few more years and it costs enough that I would like to be able to take it with me to the next house if we do move. On the other hand, if we don't end up moving, then I'd like to have it now and not wait until that decision is made for sure.

My Dh says it was really easy to install and he has reminded frequently as of late how much he hates plumbing. The only problem I can see with "uninstalling" it is that it would leave some small holes on the toekick under the sink and in the base of the sink cabinet. Probably not too noticeable. I say install, enjoy and worry about the "uninstall" issue when it happens.

I am planning on a single bowl from GTS but I am concerned that the 10" depth may not give us room for the r.o. sytem.

r.o. is a reverse osmosis water filtration system. Some of us who have *really* bad city or well water use them.

vwhippichick, I love your soapstone, and your tapmaster, and your faucet...gorgeous! One of these days, we'll start my remodel, too....

You got-it cj, my reverse osmosis system has a large tank which is under sink in cabinet and not sure if a 10" deep sink will fit as an undermount.Still waiting for vwhippichick to chime in.

Okay SUPER dumb question, but how do you control hot and cold water temp? Do you do that with your foot, like toggle it back and forth or do you have to do that with the faucet handle? Can you "override" the tapmaster with the faucet handle?

amy - Sorry to take so long. Just really busy working in the kitchen instead of dreaming about getting it finished! :-)
Here's a pic. It is about 18 1/2" from the bottom of the sink to the floor of the cabinet. The sink is ticor S305R, undermount single bowl, 31 1/2" wide. Our drain pipes are much much lower. HTH

Caligirl - You leave the faucet open and set it at the temp you desire. Then you operate the on/off function only with the foot pedal. You can lock it out so that the control is only on the faucet or you can look the tapmaster on so the faucet runs continuously to fill a pot for example without having to keep pressure on the foot pedal.

Jaymielo Be creative with your justification. I reminded my husband, who loves to restore cars, that he frequently comes in the kitchen from the garage with dirty hands. "It would be a shame to have to replace that relatively expensive faucet in a year or so wouldn't it" I said.

I hate to be a pain but I checked the GTS web site and the s305r looks like a double bowl. Another question, what size cabinet did you use to fit the sink in? Will a 33" work for your sink? Thanks for all the help and inspiration.

OOPs sorry It is model number S112. The cabinet is a corner cabinet 42" with a 25 1/2" front. My DH says the sink would not fit a 33" cabinet??? Sorry for the misinformation.

vwhippiechick, thanks so much your are a huge help. Sorry for the delay, we were at the NJ home show getting some ideas, ( feeling soapstone, cabinet colors, etc. ) Getting close to some final decisions. Hope to post the final layout soon for some critique from the gurus.

We have model 1750. It is the dual water line, foot activation model. We bought it from an ebay vendor and he represented it as the 1751 which has both the cabinet door and the toekick activators. But when it arrived it had only the toekick option. Even though we were shortchanged, we are really enjoying it!

Pecanpie I thought of your comment at work just yesterday when I tried to turn the faucet on with my foot. I pressed with my foot once, then twice before I realized - no tapmaster LOL. Glad nobody saw me!
