I was astonished that Kara did so well after her lousy showing last week but her dress really was good. The dyed Dens were making me cringe, too. I'm glad Daniel won again in spite of everyone's cluelessness about the flowers. Santino's might have worked better for me if it hadn't been so glossy. I was really worried Chloe was going to not finish and get cut because of it. She's too good to be gone at this point. And poor, poor Andrae. Can you believe he DIDN'T cry when he was cut? I was cracking up at Santino doing the whole "Tim and Andrae at Red Lobster" bit. I'm tempted to write some nasty slash fiction just to see that all play out. Next week, just what I've been calling for: MENSWEAR!!!!!

I saw that Kara showed for Fashion Week. I was surprised. And I did think she had the best collection out of them all. She probably did better because some of the pressure was off. Did they do that last season with the 4th finalist? I liked Diana the moment she said she read more science magazines than fashion. Too bad she couldn't pull it off any of her designs. I liked Santino, and I was really annoyed when they said that he wasn't flamboyant enough in his final collection-- after they spent the whole show beating him down. His take on Tim...OMG...that was hilarious. He does him well. Did you read any of that crazy Manolo site? You know, I expected Zulema to make it to the Final Four, but she really fizzled out quick. The "Walk Off" was really EVIL of her! I thought they lost one of the best models as a result of that. Evil Zulema. She doesn't NEED an alter-ego. She is her own evil twin...lol. (her bio says she is, or was a model...as a Jamaican-American, may I say, she needed to do something with her hair??? Braid it up, pull it back...anything!!-- hope I'm not being too rude. :-)

SoCalStewart and Kara here are your plants June 2021!! You can see the same two this time last year and later in 2020 above. Now I screwed up a bit on the larger ones. I really have only one sunny window in my kitchen. The smaller one I overwintered there. My BIG pink Rainbow Burst (not in this photo) I typically put in my dark cold garage over winter and it does great! However I tried overwintering the bigger of these two on a cool single pane basement window. I thought that would give them a good dormancy. I am in NJ, and these stayed outside to mid October or so when we had risk of good freeze and I thought summer was over. When I went to bring them (this and another) outside in Spring I noticed it continued to try and grow and stretched out quite a bit. Now it is acclimated to outside and summer so the top is widening, but unfortunately has that weird pinch on top. Oh well. BTW Gymnocalycium treated the same way stayed dormant all winter and are flowering now. Lots of pups on both of these Echinolobivia. No buds yet....
