I just found this site looking for why my legs and feet hurt when I stand and walk. I just turned 65 but have been in this pain (they say fibromyalgia) after several car accidents - I use to drive for a living - worked on machines and computers. I also moved into a house that needed a lot of repair. But it seems like the pain just keeps getting worse - I have been tested and tested and they say all the blood test - they all come back normal! I keep trying every supplement that people suggest or what I can find on the internet. I have been dealing with this well over 15 yrs and in the last 4 it is so bad I cannot walk my dogs even. It is so not fair for them. I have started to try CBD - some days it works well - They had me on so many opiods and muscle relaxers it was ridiculous and I wont take anymore. To be able to be me again would be such a blessing!

Please do not leave the dogs alone together. It very likely will end very badly. tiffduke, training will help only to a certain extent. We have been through this. I hope for your Dacshund's sake that the Mastiff is now back with your daughter. Please be aware that punctures on the back of the neck need to be checked out by a vet and perhaps meds prescribed to avoid blood poisoning. Dogs, whether they be big or small will go for the back of the neck to ensure that the dog being attacked is trapped. Two of our Dachshund's were attacked in this manner. My heart froze when I saw our big dog holding our Dachshund by the back of the neck and shaking him. There was no reason for it and I should already have left the house - fortunately I had not. The Dachshund was a major Alpha - much to the displeasure of our big dog, who was not alpha. I should point out that our Alpha Dachshund took care of all of his siblings and was not "bossy" with them. Jump forward a few years and we had the same situation - our then Alpha Dachshund was attacked by his Dachshund sibling - who wanted to be an Alpha. They finally seemed to work things out when the little troublemaker attacked our Alpha again. Yet our Alpha did not want to hurt the Alpha-want-to-be. And the attacker knew it. Also, never try to remove the innocent dog without him/her realizing it is you. My husband learned this the hard way - our innocent pup thought he was being attacked attacked on all sides. I hope all is well. We no longer have a Dachshund and I miss them every day.

alisande - the funny thing is of course is that my skin is not really all that good - it was basically my foundation - now d/c - have one application left - that made it appear so. One lipstick isn't my only problem - I have one blush, foundation, a couple of neutral eye shadows and my moisturizing loose powder. My husband thinks I am making it up when I tell him that so many women have drawers full of the latest colours! Of course my one lipstick is not cheap - but since I only have one it sort of balances out. I read your posting written by the beauty editor - I wish I could use retinol. Back in the day when these types of products first came out, my derm tried just a touch on the side of my jaw - yikes: My skin is just too thin - and with the rosacea a major problem. Can't handle fillers either - so what you see is what you get. I have bought the new formulation of my foundation - has more oil which is good but lacks the coverage which is bad. The SAs in the U.S. have found that their customers of a certain age hate it and it has really cost them sales - certainly younger girls like it, but if I wanted a slightly thicker TM I would have bought one. Actually, despite wearing my former full coverage, oil based foundation, I appeared to be wearing a TM - my skin just sucked it up. Of course everything I use is higher end but at the lower end of the high end due to my acid/retinol issues. I would love to be able to do a yogourt mask - or egg and honey (the honey gets me), I can't use exfoliators - my skin seems to exfoliate itself. My derm and his nurse actually wrote a paper about me. So the search goes on for a new lipstick - and one that does not look dry. I do lip balm my lips like crazy, then fill them in with a liner (now d/c) and then the lipstick. I once managed to match the colour but the formula felt as if I had been eating greasy soup and crackers. After apply my l/s I can't tell I am wearing it, which is good. Basically, I have no colour to my face - never have - except for the yellow under-tone and the dark, deep set eyes. I don't use concealer because what goes on must come off and I also have ocular rosacea. My lips have absolutely no pigment. My eyes are hazel but I don't suit lavender e/s - yellow skin - plus I can't handle the pigment. Same with copper shades. I adore "sophisticated" pinks - unfortunately I look horrible in pink - but since in Toronto we can buy so many brands at only one store, the same customers have seen each other over the years and everyone knows that I will try something if I think it might work - and have seen the horror shows - so they will ask for my opinion - particularly re pinks! But better to know that they look awful on me. Clothing wise I look best in jet black, navy and khaki green (that is a hard one to find). I look pretty awful in most other colours. So black it often is and we have a white dog - who sheds. I wish my skin was normal! I do often add almond oil to unscented drugstore body lotion - that helps a lot. I do not have any perfume because it turns rancid on me - so that is a money saver and at least I can't be accused of stinking up a room. Unscented antiperspirant is a problem because the scented versions turn on me - I smell like rancid baby powder. Then there is unscented laundry detergent. You have many more options in the U.S. that we do in Canada, so if I can find a laundry detergent I can use, I buy 6.

Fascinating topic :). I have never been interested in make up, and so never got into much of it. Daily routine is, after washing face, to apply an SPF 30 moisturizer, brow pencil since I plucked most of mine as a teenager and they never grew back, and a dot of Dermablend cover on a small but very pale and noticeable circular scar above one eye where I had a skin cancer removed. Quit bothering with eye shadow and blush years ago, ditto with foundation which is also nasty to wear in the Miami subtropical weather; feels to me like wearing a greasy mask, yuck. Actually the climate here strongly mitigates against the multilayer face 'painting' I read about; cannot imagine plastering on primer/foundation/powder and then leaving it to bake all day especially during what I call our double 90 season (heat and humidity). Have never used lipstick, rarely mascara and never tried eye liner. Have never had an interest in Botox or any other type of intervention or surgical options and probably never will. I did Invisalign orthodontia several years ago; had lived with crooked teeth until I was 50+ YO and the feeling about my improved appearance/smile, along with the greater ease in keeping up with dental hygiene due to straight teeth has been immeasurably positive. I have my hair professionally cut and highlighted every 10-12 weeks. Wash and blow dry it every other day, use a straightening iron too often--as I'm aging my hair is developing that brittle overprocessed look that I hate to see. I need to up my use of hair treatments but just haven't bothered. What else--do my own pedicures, no manicures or nail polish on my hands. Did fingernail polish for years on my own but didn't like how it discolored the nails and prefer natural. I am in major stall on exercise; was doing Pilates regularly with a trainer but she closed her studio and I haven't found a group class with a good instructor on a schedule that works for me. At 58, I badly need to get myself into a regular schedule of cardio, stretching and weight training. Have never had to worry about weight but the tone and fitness lack is worrisome. I'd call myself diligent in keeping clean, tidy and looking reasonable but in many ways I like being in the stage of life at which I've become 'invisible'. It's very freeing in a lot of ways not to worry about trying to live up to whatever i social acceptability standard for appearance is out there for women these days :).
