Just to clarify, because I'm a little confused. The tile is all going to be stacked and all the same size regardless if it's the glass or the opaque? The glass row will only be 1 tile tall, so you're trying to decide how many stripes and that will tell you how many tiles high of the opaque tiles you will use? Yes, mahlgold, you've got it right. My head was starting to spin, trying to explain it! :-) Thanks for asking for clarification. I have wanted glass mosaic all along, and I had something very similar in my last kitchen, so I am ready for the grout lines. The challenge was to bring a subtle suggestion of horizontality (is that even a word?) to the wall, to help ameliorate what I perceive as an imbalance on the range wall, as you may recall. So, yes, it will be quite different from the inspiration pic in overall effect. But, that was one of the ways I found to bring in a "horizontal" element. Yes, I do feel lucky at the moment. I see you are continuing to struggle. It is so hard. And, often when I think I am there, something shifts. I always wonder when it will end and if this time I really have it right. One thing interesting my husband said yesterday as we discussed all the different ways to use the Sandstone and pale blue together was that really any of them would look good. He's right and it helped me relax a bit. Just a bit. :-)

Okay, I have to say, you guys are AWESOME! @remodelfla - looks like that eBay seller is the same as the Amazon seller -Oracle, and the same price. Will have to check on whether shipping makes the difference. Just got notice that the sample has shipped so hope to get it this week. Trikeenan is out and Sea Turtles are in - love the glass but had to decide quickly and the turtles spoke to me (the Honu is sort of our family emblem). @fouramblues - that is the post I was looking for, and you got the name of the tile, too - Yay! (somehow "Bell" turned into "Beth" in my mind overnight - no wonder I couldn't find it). I think my flooring is American Olean so that was interesting....will research that tile when I get back on the desktop - search limited on iPad here. And I'm not sure what makes it "rustic" - mostly interested in low color variation (the "camel" looks like far too much) and the tile sizing/pattern - random, and more honed, smooth. But not polished/glossy. And not pitted. Interesting, but not to overpower the turtles. And I should mention, the backsplash on the other side of the kitchen is just under 3" tall and abut 20' long, so we don't want to cut a zillion tiles to fit, so multi-width will certainly make that easier. I was just at Home Depot buying dripper irrigation supplies and saw an interesting one called Bamboo something that I had seen online a few places in my search - it's all 1/4" strips and $15sf, but I get a military discount there and it's in stock. Thank you for all the help! Open to more ideas!

How much backsplash do you have? Although I like the mosaic, if it were the whole backsplash I am not sure I would like it as much - it is much busier than the subways. But that is my preference and I agree if you want the backsplash to be the star, the mosaic will stand out. Other considerations - mosaic is more grout, and you need to be accurate lining up the sheets of mosaic, or it will look off. Have you considered running a few rows of the mosaic through the subway, similar to what you have done with the listello? I couldn't be sure flipping back and forth between pictures if the colors would work together.
