I assume these swirls scratches are in places other than where the stove will sit. The staining looks fine so the swirls are likely caused by the finisher buffing between coats. They may have used a screen that was too aggressive to be used between coats or they may have been using the coarser grit screen to remove dust or something that may have been blown in and embedded in the first coat. Another possibility is that the urethane was put on just a bit thin. A less likely issue is that the floor was tack ragged with something that stayed in the small swirl scratches and reacted with the finish. I've seen swirls like this before and they usually are removed by applying another coat. They should use a finer screen and then maybe follow that up with a Bona maroon pad. I've never seen a finish that was completely perfect, free of dust, hair, a bubble or some other imperfection, but there's a line between what's acceptable and what's not. If the finisher had enough skill to do the nice stain job he should be able to get the finish right.

Can’t wait for mine to bloom. I got it bare root from Edmonds as well. Funnily enough they sent me two by mistake…I have to find room for my unexpected spare. I can also tell already it’s going to be vigorous! After six weeks it’s almost as tall as my Strawberry Hill climber that I also got bare root. It looks like a beautiful plant already. And the other is actually taller, just not as busy!

You can still use the printed chair in the living room, but we would go with a solid-colored rug, such as off-white or dark grey. You have quite a bit of white in your home already. Adding a lighter-toned rug would brighten up the space and bring an overall modern style to the room for a refreshed look. If you're still drawn to a printed rug to minimize wear and tear/traffic/shoe stains, stick with one with less movement than the swirl design in your photo. We suggest to clients that a dramatic pattern immediately attracts the eye to that location instead of using the rug, for example, as a piece that ties the living room together and blends in beautifully with the furniture.
