Sorry for the delay, but this is the third time I have tried to continue my answer. I did take more photos of the countertop and cabinets, but after uploading them to my server I felt that they do not add anything to my first photos and the ones on the earlier post. I did a search of all of the Wilsonart HD Series and I have included an URL to one that says it goes well with all woods. Is the grain in your oak doors very prominent, and are they a natural color, or are they stained? I think going with a laminate that is on the light side or the dark side will not show as much 'movement'. I work at a building supply and our samples of the Wilsonart are 3" x 5". I originally selected a different pattern, but went to a local Lowes to see if they had my choice made up on a display countertop. They did, and I immediately changed my mind. If you can see some display countertops I think that will help you very much since they also have the cabinets with the countertops. I do have a beveled edge, and unless the glue would for some reason 'melt', I think you would have to take a hammer to make a chip. Thank you :) I do have the samples. It is sooooo hard to picture it on my whole countertop. I ordered another sample of each as to try and visualize it with a larger area. If this doesn't help, I will head to a local building supply store to see if they have a larger sheet in stock to look at.

Hi Kitchen people, Well, we installed the countertops Friday evening. There was a nice symbolic end to the process--the back corner wasn't sitting flat on the cabinets so I paused, smirked, and jumped my cute little "self" up there to put weight on it. DH was very amused. Jump down. It was all done! Well, except building a backsplash and about a dozen other small projects and the floor to lay... but well, it felt "done" for a minute. IN fact, yesterday we both declared that we felt like we actually relaxed and enjoyed some free time. wink, wink. And we weeded the garden of 6 weeks of weeds and DH mowed the grass finally. THen we settled in for a 10 hour downpour. Photos of said countertop and kitchen to come soon. Glad we didn't build it ourselves. Oh--and the seam doesn't show--it's under the stove edge. DH figured out how to change height of stove to the right height. Phew. Good DH, good.

I have the laminate with the Karran sink undermounted. I think it's very similar to the way that the Wilsonart sinks are being 'integrated' into their laminate. While I love it, mine is less than a year old, and the edges of the laminate are nicked a bit, and I bumped a heavy cookie sheet on the edge last week and it chipped the laminate. So I would not recommend it. Not the Karran, and not the Wilsonart. Because it looks like Wilsonart are using the same process to install theirs as the Karran sinks, and if I had it to do over, I wouldn't do it. I'm really disappointed with the laminate chipping. I don't think I'm going to have a water seepage issue, just because of the way they're glued together, but the chips are noticeable, and I'm not happy about it. I have a question in to the Karran people to see if others have had similar problems. I can't find anywhere online where people have commented about the laminate chipping at the edge. But mine has one chip and a few little nicks. So I think eventually I'm going to have to get this sink cut out and do a drop-in. Wish I'd done it in the first place. I'd advise against it.
