What's For Supper This Wednesday Night?

Hamburgers, fried potatoes, lettuce salad and some kind of fruit. That is what I am fixing. There is one piece of cake left and husband can have it. Do you know what you are fixing this evening? It is cloudy and 33 here in central Indiana.

Dinner for lunch, out, as usual!

Bogue's for a baked pork chop and baby green lima's.

They put their DELICIOUS, to die for, homemade cinnamon rolls, on my table, and I asked waitress to take them back.

chicken burgers with add-ons: mozzarella cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, sauteed onions and mushrooms

Will serve with a Caesar salad, and perhaps some hummus and Wasa crackers

Dessert is apple pie (on which I will pass).

Leftover crockpot meal from yesterday. Haven't been feeling great lately so yesterday I threw a couple Cornish hens in the crockpot, some green beans from the garden, red new potatoes and onions. We have leftovers so if the kids want to eat, that's what they get or will have to fix something else.

Oktoberfest is this weekend, and I didn't want to fight traffic (it's right by the Titans stadium and Miami may be here instead due to Matthew), so we went to Gerst Haus! Jägerschnitzel in hunter's sauce and German potato salad, applesauce, and pumpernickel. Of course, with Gerst Haus beer. Well, the boy didn't have beer. But I did. And lots of polka music. I wished I wasn't wishing. Back when Gerst Haus was in its old location, we'd go and listen to Mongo play with his band. He always asked the ladies to polka with him, and because I didn't know how, I said no. I wished I had. Miss Mongo!

Angelaid, Thank You for the detailed directions on how you cooked your chicken. Sounds yummy. I am roasting a chicken today, but I'm not stuffing it. I'll make stuffing on the side. I showed my grandsons whom I'm raising a pic of your chicken dinner yesterday and ask what they wanted for Fridays dinner, they hoth pointed to your dinner and said....THAT...LOL. Its a cold, rainy day here so using the oven and having comfort foods will be great. Thank You.

lgmd, every once in awhile my husband brings home Mrs. Grass soup, even though I make a great soup. It's funny. It's so salty it makes my lips burn when I taste it, lol. I made tacos tonight, with some pulled beef, homemade salsa, etc. Pretty tasty and a nice change.

fish tacos...always like to do a "light" dinner after having a heavy one (last night beef stew) besides, dh had lunch at the office today...they were grillling chicken or something...

at least we have blue skies...and probably the about the sames temps...have been doing laundry, so havn't gotten out..

If the stuff gets done in time, I'll have some chicken breast w/stuffing on top, potato salad, and for my vegetable a cup of split pea soup.

It's about 35Â° and the sun came out a little while ago. Now that's a big lift to a person's spirits!

Chicken stew , now this may sound weird, watermelon was on sale so that will be dessert. Admit I have already eaten one piece.

This place, patti, is known for their cinnamon rolls.

I started eyeing it, and when I saw the waitress, I had to have her remove it.

Has anybody heard of Stuffys Restraunt? I ate at one in Washington when visiting my sister.
They serve a Gobb.....which is deep fried sweet dough. It is to die for....I would love to find a recipe....
A little OT but Glenda's post made me think of it.

Trin we used to have what Mom called Dough Gobs. They were just deep fried dough patted out and fried then with butter cinnamon and sugar on them. Not sure if it was the same as what you had or not.

Trinity - if it's what I'm thinking of, they are called Scones up here and Indian Fry Bread in other parts of the country. Only job I was ever fired from, after several years, was from a restaurant for giving out their "secret" recipe! (And it was hanging right on the side of the refrigerator where anyone could see it! *shrugs shoulders*) LOL

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups of warm water
1 1/2 Tbsp. Sugar
1 Tbsp. Yeast
1/2 tsp Salt
1 Tbsp. Shortening
3 1/2 Cups Flour
Preparation
Throw everything above into your bread machine, and set to the dough cycle (around 1 hour 30 minutes)
You can make the dough by hand too (Mix, Knead for 15 minutes, and let rise for an hour).
. Break off pieces of dough, flatten by hand, or rolling pin.
. Deep fry in oil until golden brown (around 350 degrees).
. Serve with butter and honey.
Makes about 10 or so

Angelaid, those sound sort of like what we call Elephant Ears? The fairs around here sell them. So good, usually put butter and cinnamon and sugar on them I think.
