Aging and Antibiotics

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing change when you take antibiotics as you've aged.

I've never had a problem before but after a surgery in 2004 I became allergic to Penicillin.

I've been on various AB's since then and no side-effects. A month ago I was treated for a staph infection on my skin and was given an AD with sulfa in it. My mouth severely got a metallic taste to it. I blamed it on the sulfa because the AB was really strong.

Today I had some minor dental work done and as a precaution the Dr. gave me Cipro. I've only taken one pill and the metallic taste is back. UGH. And I've taken Cipro before!

So I decided to stop taking it and if I feel the slightest change in the tooth area I'll go right back on the meds. Plus I don't like taking antibiotics back to back like this.

Have any of you been affected by antibiotics as you've gotten older?
