A tribute to my Granddaughter...

Our little GD was prematurely born at 6 months...she was to small but she did live for abot 2 hours...Her mom had an emergency appendictomy 4 days before and think it may have triggered her birth...It's Okay...We are all coping...Mom and Dad have their days but they are doing as well expected...

I was looking for a way to memoralize and find some kind of comfort in capturing her essence...On my request...Mom brought down her things that she was in...We both were glad to photograph them...it really was a great source of healing...

Mom had taken the picture of her in the middle and the things around were Ariana's...Did basic editing on individual pictures then used Picasa's collage and Photo plus 6...what a quick learn job to do on that...and in no way have mastered PP6 but I was able to manage a few a things...It's not exactly what I had in mind but it has given me comfort to accomplish this...Hope you don't mind me sharing...

After the funeral we brought down Darius, Ariana's brother, (and my Grandson)...He is just so fast that it's hard to get a really good pic...but I'm always trying...teehee...out of several there's usually one or two that comes out...

and call this ...Not James Dean, Not Elvis...but Darius...His such a handsome young man who is 3 now...

juanita, you did a beautiful collage in Ariana Faye's memory. It is really lovely. I hope it helped you a little in getting thru the first steps of the grieving process. I loved looking at it, it really is beautiful.

I'm so sorry for your loss and for her Mom and Dad.

The black and white photo of Darius is great. He has such nice eyes and the B&W makes them look huge and bottomless. A very handsome lad. Destined, I'm sure, to break some feminine hearts in a few years.

Wow, that is so pretty, Kirk! I like how you find things to re-purpose, very cool idea. Yep, our nights are dippin' down a little here in Oklahoma,(I hear the song every time I type that word, weird!)But not to 14 yet. I notice you still have some green grass left, though. I've had to put down two cats this month, Professor Hyssop, who had multiple illnesses and is now buried beneath Professeur Emile Perrot, and my beloved Marlena, who was 21 years old. Marlena was a "blue" like your Zeus. She has a little garden of two Lili Marlena's, Marie Bugnet (because she had silver toes), a Phyllis Bide that climbs into the smoke tree. Marlena raised countess kittens, skunks, bunnies--and human hearts. She hated it when people got angry and would weave back and forth until they lowered their voices. She guarded my showers, she travelled with me, lived in three countries and visited all but five states. I feel completely orphaned, and so, I think, do my remaining 14 other cats. I think the difference between losing a person (except a child) and a critter, is that with people there is always bagagge: good times and bad, hidden agendas, obligations, expectations, things you both coulda/woulda/shoulda done differently. With critters, there's just love and mutual trust. I've lost both my parents in the last 2 1/2 years and four cats, two of whom, Aidan and Marlena, were the rocks to which I'd tied the kite strings of my life (to paraphrase F. Scott Fitzgerald). I was very close to my parents, but I grieve more for my kitties. Thank you, Robert, and everyone else for opening your hearts. I raised Pablo from a bottle. Even now, when he is 10 years old, whenever he wants a little snack or a cuddle, he puts his paws around my neck and sucks on my throat until I find him a "special" or kiss his tummy.

What are friends for? Sharing everything. Especially your grief. Thank you so much for posting these pictures. Have never lost a baby but have lost a child and it is very heartbreaking. So sorry for your loss.((((((((juanital))))).

That's a lovely thing for you to have done, and you did a beautiful job.

Your grandson is a future hunk for sure! He looks rather European to me for some reason. Russian, maybe. Gorgeous!
