Ahhhhh, so I'm not the only one afflicted with this?

Sometimes my eyes hurt watching a 30 second commercial and I realize it's because I'm looking furiously at every detail in the background - the wall color, the flooring, the cabinets, the handles, the back-splash, the appliances, the light fixtures, the window treatments, the faucet, etc., etc., all in the time it takes to flash a product sitting on a counter-top or something, lol.

I think it's from looking at photos on here so often and looking at all the details in a still picture - now I catch myself doing it constantly while watching tv or movies.

On DVDs, I find the "Sure breaks up the flow of a good movie, tho.

I do the same thing! Funny thing this past weekend, my cousin and her family came to visit for Easter. They are getting ready to do a total remodel on their kitchen. They have always liked our kitchen, but commented that they now see everyone rooms, especially our kitchen, in a different way since they started the remodel project.

Too funny! I do the same thing myself! My DH is always suspicious that I'm telling him to rent a certain movie just because the interiors looked interesting on the trailers we've seen . . . he's right, I do. I loved Diane Keaton's house in "Something's Gotta Give", especially her kitchen. Loved checking out the interiors in "Gosford Park" and the Jane Austen movies. Heck, some of my favorite scenes in "Hook" was when they were staying in London at Wendy's home. I hated the movie "Under The Tuscan Sun" (although I loved the book). But, I watched it again recently just to see her house another time.

Yes -- another one here that notices the details on homes and houses, rooms and gardens in all sorts of TV shows and movies ......

The rug is very pretty. I was wondering if all of those shots are in an actual house or on a set? It seems a bit dark to me, maybe it's how they do the lighting. I agree about the house in "Somethings Gotta Give". That's the only reason I continue to watch that movie when it comes on tv!

twingirlsmom, I did, too. Jump over to "The Conversations" side and see if we can get some people discussing it, or Dancing with the Stars, or American Idol. Fluffy stuff, I know, but still fun!

As far as movie sets go, I remember the end of Runaway Bride, when Julia Roberts showed up at Richard Gere's apartment/condo/penthouse. I loved everything about it! It was so sophisticated and warm....

It's all about the set design for me!!! If anyone has seen Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, I hope you watched the bonus feature that showed how they designed the set. Anyone who hasn't seen it, should. It's a lighthearted cheerful movie, and the set is incredibly detailed. It's nothing we would copy for our living rooms, but very FUN!
