Although you haven't gone fishing since your teenage years you suddenly become excited about it again when you realize that, while trout, bass, and other "good" fish have catch limits, you can catch all the squawfish and other invasive "bad" species you want, not only cleaning up your local streams and lakes, but also adding valuable micronutrients to your opus magnus....Oh yeah, and maybe you'll catch a trout or two for the dinner table, but that's secondary.

the big deal???? i have 300 hundred different hosta.. that look exactly the same.. lol ... only the label tells them apart ... i also have a 6 and 10 year old.. that kill brain cells ... lol ... if i were to volunteer .. to copy my pix.. burn them to a CD and send them to you.. i could accomplish that in about 30 seconds... you would have to take the time to label them all .... or i wouldnt bother looking at them ... ken wrote.. for some reason he didnt want to post.. claiming that one should ALWAYS take pix at the largest size .... if you ever plan on sending a pic for publication .... or a website.. that is a good idea.. but if you have an older computer... you will crash the thing .. if you pile up 1000 full size pix.. you will have a hard time opening files due to the shear size ... i just dont see why i need them that big .... and i dont have time to go edit every file ... when i take 50 or 60 files ... chime back here ken.. cbiii ken

It looks like the iPod touch starts a little over $200 and goes up to $250-ish depending on how much memory it has. The iPhone is around $300. Mine was a gift. I didn't know I wanted one until it was given to me! DH made a good choice. It is the lower memory, 8GB, and I'm not anywhere close to filling that with what I've done so far. If I were to put a movie on it, that would probably fill up a lot more memory. My mom got one for my dad for the purpose of watching movies while traveling, so she bought the one with more memory. Dad is not a tech savy guy, never uses the computer and just generally isn't interested in high tech stuff. But he loves his, too, and plays a lot of games on it. It's funny, really. He gets restless on trips, can't stand to be bored, so it was just the thing. ;o) For the phone, yes you'd need phone service, I guess the contract, etc. I don't know. For the touch, no, but you do pay for what you download. There is a lot available to download free, too. Most games are a couple dollars. I have not tried to download a movie. I have downloaded books in text, older classics are usually free. I can also keep pictures on it, like a digital photo album, and video clips I might make of the kids doing stuff. It does not take pictures/video- I can take them from my computer and put them on the iPod. I can use the internet, email, and text message (needed a free application download) if I'm in WiFi range. No other service needed for that, and lots of places have free WiFi. So I check wherever I go, just for grins. At a gym meet a couple hours away I was able to connect, search for local restaurants and get directions to the one we chose. It has GPS, I just can't use it on the move b/c of no WiFi conx. I bought a small device for $30 that allows my iPod to play over my car stereo, it transmits an FM band the stereo receives. I am thinking I will download an audio book to play in the van on our upcoming long road trip. My favorite time killer, though, is to browse iTunes and listen to short samples of every song I wander onto. I search artists, genres, listen to samples and keep wandering. It's like surfing the web, it's amazing the variety of music available, things I've never heard from all over the world! Oh, and You Tube videos. There was a free download to get USA Today news. I have to be in WiFi to update it every day, but then I can read it wherever. We use a wireless modem at home, so I enjoy using it at home. Sorry to go on and on. I really enjoy this gadget. I asked DH for an iPod Nano, just so I could put my music on it. He "upgraded" me and he was so smart! He is satisfied with himself for chosing a gift I like so much! Best gift ever!

Update -- right after I had posted that I was able to order three of the digital albums (on August 29), I got a confirmation e-mail from QVC saying that I had, indeed, ordered and would receive three. On August 30 I received an e-mail from QVC with the subject line "QVC: Your Order(s) Has Shipped." But, it showed only one item as having been shipped. Then, on September 2 I received another e-mail from QVC with the same "Shipped" subject line, showing that the other two items have shipped. I received the first one on Wednesday or Thursday (I think -- I put it aside and didn't open it so now I'm not sure what day it arrived). I just now got around to opening the box. This is so cool!! It has a nice weight -- not too heavy to be kept in a purse, but not lightweight/flimsy. And it's a really pretty shade of pink, too. :-) I told my sister that I had ordered this for my niece (her daughter), but didn't tell her that I had ordered one for her, too. I just called her and asked her to e-mail me some more photos of the baby, so I can load them onto the device before I send it to my niece. Little does she know that I'll load them onto hers, too! I just checked QVC and the item is available -- the pink and the silver can be ordered, but it says "Available On Waitlist." The blue (looks like a pretty shade of blue, too), is in stock.
