White subway tile backsplash ot bisque

We are in the planning stage. My cabinets will be medium cherry, rosewood granite countertop and black appliances. I have a northern exposure thus medium light. I feel for contrast need a white subway tile 3x6 for backsplash and my hubby wants a bsique colored marble tumble backsplash. We will go with a shade or two darker than rosewood for floor. Any suggestions?

I really think the tumbled marble in bisque would be enough of a contrast and would look lovely with the finishes you have chosen. Do you have or are you getting under cabinet lighting?

Lose the tumbled marble. It's been overdone. Get a handmade 3x6 in a bisque/beige. The variations in the color will be nice and the differences in each tile will avoid a blah, monotonous look.

Your kitchen is very open and inviting. It all blends together nicely. I like your countertop with your cabinets and BS. The glass cabinets are lovely. I'd like to ask if the muntin are in the glass cabinets line up well with the shelves? It appears so in your case. How are the muntins attached to the glass? Sorry to hijack - harriethomeowner - too funny! I'm scrolling and I think "oh, neat. that's the same splash as mine. wait a minute. that IS my backsplash!" LOL! I am laughing that I can recognize the pattern of tiles. :) I was glad to read it's a mock-up and I'm not going THAT crazy yet. The section that was used for the mock-up has a little higher proportion of blue in it than it should (even though I was mixing the lots like crazy). It will look great with your granite!

Just giving my 2018 take on subway tile - I am definitely bored of it, mostly because I see it absolutely everywhere in bathroom and kitchen photos. The bathrooms with subway tile from floor to ceiling are especially puzzling/irritating. Varying width/length mosaic tile has been in fashion for the last several years and there's a lot of variety there - hopefully I won't get bored of that too soon but it can indeed look too busy. My style is a European look with American practicality - simple lines and a luxury look BUT lots of drawers/cabinet space and real wood, no weird stuff like wall-hung toilets, Edison lamps, or old-timey faucets.

there are lots here with dark counters; you may find some if you search on "subway". Here is a link to mine, but I used bisque (beveled), not pure white. Here is a link that might be useful:

Another vote away from tumbled marble. I'd do a soft white subway in your case.

Sorry to sorta hijack thread - but Johnny please tell more/give pictures. I too am in the middle of trying to pick back splash.
I have soapstone and white cabinets. I don't want a shiny polished look. I am trying to find a casual looking simple backsplash that will take a backseat to the countertop.
Handmade in bisque sounds awesome but I can't find examples online.
