I got lucky, besides some powder sugar looking like stuff on the roofs, nothing here.

I was wondering if you or YaYa got any snow. We had a blinding blizzard here this morning, but it lasted less than five minutes. It was weird. By the time I got the camera and got the door open it was all gone. :(

My favorite winter smell is from when the floor furnace was lit. It meant warmth.

I know that smell too....like fresh linen only better...clean and crisp. And the smell of my Moms hot chocolate with marshmallows and cinnamon sticks...frothy and steamin' hot....such beautiful memories....thanks Ms.Flamingo....

I like the smell of baked goods....breads, cakes, rolls...yumm. I rarely bake though...just the smell alone is enough to pack the pounds on these hips. I do like to burn "Creme Bruelle" in my fragrance lamp. DH will always come home and ask if I had made a cake. He is forever hopeful. lol

How much snow did you get Flamingo? It totally missed us, but DH says he got 6 inches at work already (he is 40 miles from home) and I know poor DD is getting bunches of it where she is at (south of St. Louis).

We only got about 4", Linda and Moni, but it was lovely. It's melting off already. When we went to bed we had a light dusting. At 3:30 AM, about an inch. At 6 AM, 4" and it was stopping. I'm glad it didn't do it a day earlier or we'd have had 3 feet of snow, we had about 4" of rain.

Oh, I thought of another smell- fresh baked bread with real butter, waiting for us when we got off the school bus, yay for MOM!

Kathy, I think the smells of food on a winter day are super powerful memory makers. Yours sounds wonderful.

Woody would never ask me that question about baking a cake, he knows better. Although, cupcakes or brownies aren't out of the question! lol I hope J. gets home OK!

My favorite winter memory was playing outside. Then I came indoors and my hands were wet and cold. Grandma,who lived with us, was very fat. She had me put my hands under her upper arms. I got warm so fast!

Well I can't say as I haven't "sniffed" snow.

But, I like the idea of smelling homemade bread in the oven.

Spring is my favorite smell right now - I'll send snow, lots of it, to anyone missing that smell. But honestly, I do love the smell when it's crispy outside and the sun is beating down hard. Nothing like it to lift the spirit! I missed it in the UK - big time.
Can't believe I just said that - getting salt/sand ready for the overnight ice and weekend snow storm....sigh.

Cold has a smell too. Custer brings it in on him.

I like the smell of a fast rain shower on a hot dusty day. Not only does it smell good it feels good too.

Fresh Christmas trees.

Pinon and oak burning in a fireplace. Ahhhhhh! Beez must be like Dustin, Flamey. He always smells so good and fresh. Kinda like snow. I've never had a dog that didn't smell like dog until him. Now Cody? Not so much. LOL

While in New Mexico some people would burn Juniper wood for heat. The smell is wonderful.

I could not conjure up any scent for snow, so I scooped up a handful of freshly fallen snow when I went out to get the mail. It had no smell at all to me, so my nose must not be too efficient, lol.

Snow just smells SO fresh & clean! We only got a few flurries of Flamingo's snow but strong north winds brought the smell of it to us for several hours. And that was quite enough for this ol' cold weather sissy.
