i'm sorry. no, we have the brick picked out. i'm just wondering about the siding that goes on our dormers, etc. that house that i found in the above pic is about 20 minutes from where we are building, but it's the only house that i can find that has both white siding, white front porch, almond windows, and almond trim. i'm thinking now that i may stick with the almond trim that will go along with the windows, but then add an off white (possibly BM lancaster whitewash or something) as the front porch and siding color. that wouldn't be so STARK and stick out so much. i do love the black. i think it just looks so classic and of course, it looks wonderful with our roof color. our contractor said today that they are going to start bricking tomorrow. so, i'll be able to have a pic of the house with the actual brick on it, instead of some that i've applied from another home. thank you all so SO much for your opinions and comments. i need them! since i'm now a stay at home mom. . . .all my buddies still teach school, so i sit here and think about all these crazy decisions and drive myself insane! my sweet hubby says he doesn't care. as long as we stay in budget. . . .so he's not the greatest help!

I don't have pictures unfortunately, but I did the Royal Oaks mosaic behind the range and chimney hood to the ceiling (my accent wall). Then for the rest I used urban putty subway tile with 3 rows of the mosaic as an accent along the tile (so 3 rows of subway, 3 rows of mosaic, 2 rows of subway). The 3 accent rows tie into the mosaic behind the range. I know someone who did the same basic thing but ran their mosaic behind the range vertical (which was a little too modern for my tastes). I'm been happy with it, especially with the espresso colored cabinets (I also have glazed maple).

Congratulations! Good luck in your new home. Are your cabinets made of wood? What type of finish is on them? Assuming you stain the cabinets a wood color, greens look great with wood. There are lots of greens to choose from. From your pictures, at this point, any color will coordinate. What are the colors of your furnishings or what do you intend to purchase? There are 1000s of paint colors so it is much easier to select a paint color to coordinate with furnishings rather than selecting furnishing to go with paint. If you have to paint 1st, at least look at furniture to get an idea of a plan or direction...I digress...Start by looking at greens with wood tones. I “liked” deco’s opinion on gray, as I think gray, in general, has lived its life for now. You seem to get a good amount of natural light in the space, but I don’t think you should paint the third wall another color. You have the brick wall for accent. With your beige furniture and the light, I am going with a gray, in spite of my comments. In particular, B.M. Stonington Gray would work well in the space. When you choose draperies, have the fabric the same color as the beige furniture. It will be a nice connect with the Stonington gray walls. Also, run the rod across the window as well. I would hang the rod as high as. possible. The stack back fabric on either side will frame the space beautifully.
